It's like Anderson Silva vs GSP.. While theoretically would be good fight, the bigger guy is much bigger! Ward could go to 175 easily where as Martinez can't really go beyond 160

I'd favor Ward even if they were the same size, but Martinez is probably too small to be moving up an extra 8 pounds. He fought as a jr middleweight in his last fight. Martinez said he'd consider 164, but I doubt Ward is interested in that because he's already talking about fighting at light heavyweight.

Well, martinez expects pac to, and pac really has no business going past 147. Martinez can go beyond 160, its just not his optimum.

Id like to think it was another case of ward would be too big, but recent history has proven me wrong many times here.

Styles making fights could very much play into this. Sergio has enough power, is skilled, smart and slick himself. And hes a fighter.

huh? A guy that's p4p #3 in most people's lists is not skilled or smart enough for a guy who's p4p #7 or 8 or higher?

power isn't going to do much when you're fighting a guy in a bigger weight division and has the 2nd or 3rd best defense in the sport

Ward is smarter, slicker, and bigger

Froch is much more of a fighter than Martinez is, but we saw what happened
