I was thinking the same thing.I was expecting a big scene when they presented Ward with the trophy, u know... fireworks, lights, ect.
Jim gray .... "It's been a long way, are you ready for your trophy"
Andre Ward: (gets really excited)
Jim Grey: "Here, congratulations"
and that was it, after all these years...
lol, Really Showtime? I'm sure they can do better than that.

I find it funny that Ward fought after his eye was cut and a hand injury yet Pac is ducking the most skilled fighter int he world on a May 5th date because of his paper cut eye that needs half a year to heal.
Ward has accomplished more than Pac has in the past 2 years. Pac should be #2 or #3 on the P4P list UNDER Ward and arguable UNDER JMM, let alone Mayweather being #1. Like I have said for the past 2 years, Pac can't live off his CW title fight vs Cotto which in fact is the one and only Champion he has EVER fought at WW.
Ward deserves the #2 P4P spot, well above Pac. Too many excuses from that hype job. Even with injuries, Ward fought and IS the SMW Champion... and should now be rated #2 on P4P above Pac.Comment

The only one of those I wouldn't want to see is Dirrell II. I know we disagreed on the outcome of the first (and Dirrell has all the tools to win the rematch clean) but the first fight, while intriguing, ****** so bad why would anyone want to see it again? Serious. That's like ordering sewage at a fine dining establishment. Look at all the other possibilities on the menu.
Froch-Kessler was a war. Froch-Bute would be a hell of a bridge to Ward-Bute...if Bute is tough enough to handle Froch for 12. Froch-Bute and Ward-Anthony Dirrell might be a strong move for the division. Also sets up Dre Day down the road somewhere now that Dirrell's head is all healed up.

I also expected more of a ceremony when Ward was given the Cup. Especially after a tournament that took over 2 years!
As for the fight, Ward looked very good for 10 rounds, he controlled the action, made Froch look amateurish and banked at least 7 of the first 10, possibly even 9. Froch rallied well in the last 2 rounds though and Ward looked exhausted. Froch will be gutted he didn't stop him in one of the final two rounds, because Ward looked there for the taking.Comment
