The Ward/Conte/Testing situation

If somebody wants to question Marquez for his association with Hernandez, that's fine with me : Dude willingly alligned himself with a known drug cheat. And one who changed his name in an attempt to mask his identity, at that.
Though Marquez has publicly stated that people can test him anytime they want, much like Ward, he's made no effort to actually make good on that claim.
So yes, I'd lump him in the same category. And you know JMM is one of my favorite fighters of all time, so the fact that I would question him as well clearly illustrates my stance on this issue.Comment

I agree with this.
The whole guilty until proven innocent thing is tedious.
So he is not pushing for random testing, big deal. A few are. And usually those pushing for it are intimidated by someone. Berto was intimidated by Ortiz, and is either creating a distraction from the fact that he lost, or he really believes that Ortiz was on something. It doesn't matter either way.
Floyd is just protecting that 0 in advance, and is clearly intimidated.
And Ward doesn't seem to be intimidated by anyone (Yet), and if he is one day, maybe he will push for Testing because of the other guy, not the other way around.Comment

If you can point me to any thread you have started to question Vitali then I will admit I'm wrong and will retract my statements.Comment

I don't buy the high expense theory as well. And if it was a big deal to Abraham, he should have made a big issue of it instead of a little one so then Ward would have to back up all the advocacy he's been proclaiming about testing over the last couple years. He can say it all he wants, until somebody really puts the pressure on him to do it, he'll continue to get away with talking it and not walking it.I don't buy the expensiveness of the test excuse....Berto-Ortiz will have the same tests. Fights in the S6, has had the same tests(AA-Taylory, AA-Froch). If he really wants to test then he would actually test. He can sell all the wolf tickets(talking about he wants better testing) he wants. But, his actions and the way he has acted makes me believe his not serious about wanting better testing. As a pro anyways.
There was a little issue with the AA fight of wanting better testing. AA and his team just decided to fight on. No ones at fault but why was their any issue to begin with if he's suck and advocate for better testing.Last edited by deejd; 12-18-2011, 04:21 AM.Comment

So will there be a thread for their next fights solely dedicated to random drug testing?Comment

I'm not about to dig through my nearly 25,000 posts just to appease you : You have a "search" feature the same as I do, if my questioning of Ward bothers you that much, use it.
I've questioned Vitali publicly before. And if you're implying I'm some sort of Klitschko superfan (as it seems you are), you're way off base.
For Donaire, definitely. Because much like Ward, he's made a ton of claims publicly about pushing for better testing, worked with Conte the same as Ward, and then when the time came, did absolutely nothing to make good on his promises. So will there be a thread for their next fights solely dedicated to random drug testing?
Klitschko is another story, though. I can't recall him pushing for OST in any of his fights. It seems to me he has no intention of pushing for it, and is content with standard testing. (Probably because of his history with 'roids.)
So I wouldn't really have much of a thread to work with there other than your standard : "Do you think Vitali Klitschko is juicing?"Comment

Ward did take a test postfight Kessler. I know that for a fact.Clegg already gave you a source, Rick Reeno from boxingscene...Go read that article.
There hasn't been any testing for this fight. or for any of the S6 fights.
Power don't have anything to do with PED's...There are many different PED's out there that helps for many different reasons.
You really believe if Malignaggi starts jucing(assuming that he's not) that he will start KO'ing mofo's left and right?
C'mon man...
As I have stated several times regarding this subjct, i find it questionable that Ward (and others) are working with Conte. It is also dubious that Ward craves stricter testing for the s6 final and yet fail to deliver. Same goes for Froch who wanted tests as Well.
To my knowledge it is only Sauerland Fighters that is subject to random testing. They have to report their whereabouts to the german antidoping agency. So we Can only be sure that Abraham and Kessler are clean.Comment

Definitely, Klitschko's actually been adamant in his reluctance to implement random drug testing so I see what you're saying. For Donaire, definitely. Because much like Ward, he's made a ton of claims publicly about pushing for better testing, worked with Conte the same as Ward, and then when the time came, did absolutely nothing to make good on his promises.

But yeah, definitely make a thread for next Donaire fight because making this thread now [since you could have made it a couple fights ago] could make you seem as though you have an ulterior motive haha!Comment
