Probably in the minority, but I still think Hopkins would have beat Dawson.

The fight originally wasn't supposed to be PPV but HBO ran out of WCB (World Championship Boxing) dates. Golden Boy should HAVE seen what SHOWTIME would have bidded for it but opted to take what HBO gave in offering a cut rate on their PPV production fee.

Golden Boy felt that they could get 100K buys to cover their cost but I've heard that the fight barely came in at 50K buys (LOL).

Point being, Snaggatoothed Actor Hopkins can't worm his way out of this one. I'm sure they could get either Atlantic City or Mooheagan(sp?) Sun in CT to host this fight and HBO put this on it WCB 2012 calender.

Should Hopkins opt OUT of this fight, then strip HIM of the belt and let Pascal vs. Dawson go at it. LOL. Lets see what Snaggles has to say now

Hopkins was and still is under contract with HBO, so it couldn't have gone to Showtime...

HBO signed Hopkins to a 3 fight deal just prior to the Pascal rematch.

If hopkins doesn't get his $1+ million dollar payday that he wants, he could easily drop the WBC belt and still be The Ring Champion, which is better than all the other alphabet titles. Just sayin.

Gotta say that Hopkins is losing that belt ....

Dawson will come out a lot faster this time around and possibly get it over with quick. No way B-Hop beats Dawson in this fight.
