Styles make fights, comparing how they fought opponents is nearly pointless, not to mention Bute didn't fight anyone in the tournament, not even the substitutes.

You want to consider the lineal championship "vacant" if the winner doesn't fight Bute. I'm telling you that you're wrong, since linearity is only lost by getting beat in the ring or vacating (due to moving up/down in weight, retirement, etc.)

For the fifth time I didn't say it would be vacant, I said it would be effectively vacant. Do you have any idea what the word "effectively" means? It does not mean literally. If the title has been devalued to the point of making it meaningless then it is effectively vacant.

You should keep up. He fought Glen Johnson in his last fight and beat him very easily - much more easily than Froch did, although I agree with you that styles make fights and that no conclusions can be drawn from that.
