Thought Cotto won by a hair, the fight was there for Clottey but he didn't let it all hang out.. he was too hung up on chasing Cotto without throwing his hands..

I really don't understand why some posters go crying out about robbery everytime Cotto wins a close fight. This and the Mosley fight seem to be outlets for some to hate on him.
Honestly, I couldn't care less which fighter we are talking about, I just hate that whenever there's a close fight some have to moan about it being a robbery when, in reality, these are closely contested fights that could be draws or go either way.

And it's not like Cotto is the only one who takes heat for winning a close fight. People scream robbery for any fight that can go either way.

Cotto-Clottey was a fight that could go either way.
Cotto-Mosley........Cotto won that fight. It was close, absolutely. But if Cotto didn't get the nod it would have been a robbery.
Just because a fight is close doesn't mean there isn't a clear winner.

But you know how it is. Sports fans can become extremely overzealous towards their team, or in this case, their fighter.

Originally posted by Exciterx24 View PostSeems my post has been misunderstood. I refer to close fights in general when I criticize the attitudes of some fans. I think Cotto won both fights against Clottey and Mosley. I'm not going into detail for every fight that had been close, but it's common to see close fights that are two points apart being labeled as highway robberies when that's not the case.
Just cause a fight is close does not mean it's not a robbery.....that's what I'm saying. I used Cotto-Mosley as an example because everyone can agree it was a VERY close fight...but it was also pretty clear to just about everyone that Cotto deserved the nod.
