I had the fight 6-6 with Cotto edging it out by a point with the knock down.
I don't think its too controversial though.
Cotto won and controlled the early fight, Clottey won and controlled the middle of the fight and Cotto won and escaped with the fight at the end. The benefit of the doubt in a close round should go to the champ, so I've seen cards that were 8-4, or 7-5 for Cotto that is reasonable and those that were 7-5 for Clottey that were reasonable. The only way Clottey was able to win was with an 8-4 card, and that is inconceivable.
Good fight, feel like watching it again

The fight was on the Puerto Rican Parade Weekend and in a PR filled MGS with Cotto being Top Ranks and HBOs big attraction. Clottey would have had to kill Cotto to win that fight regardless how anyone scored it. The proof was in Don Trellas scorecard. 116-111, lol. Really? He even gave cotto one of the rounds clottey dominated.
I remember this fight vividly.
i have it 114-113 clottey too. . . thought he won more rounds with clean, accurate jabs and straight rights. . . he absorbed majpority of corro's shots w/ his tight guard

So for Josh to win, he would have had to win 8 rds. No way he won 8rds. Don't forget guys, Cotto fought with 1 eye basically from rd3 to the final bell. He gets props for that in my book.

6 rounds all, Cotto by a point due to the KD.
Clottey had it in the bank until he decided to do nothing for the last 2 rounds, Cotto stole it even with the horrific cut.
