Why are British fighters so hyped up?

We see it every few years, a British boxer builds up a long undefeated record against either poor opponents or opponents past their best and then they usually get exposed once they fight a good or world class opponent,

Just thinking about guys like Hamed, Hatton & Khan.

This thread isn't going to go too well but yeah they do support and overhype fighters like Groves or Brook who lets be honest have no chance at ever being a world class fighter.

The Brits are passionate fans and I wish my fellow fat ****** yanks cared as much about boxing as they did.

I dont mean it to sound disrespectful, its just the truth, and its not just the great British boxing fans, nothing wrong with supporting your countryman, but Americans hype them up, Ring magazine hypes them up, HBO jumps all over them too!

It does happen, ppl just need to put their national pride aside and look at what they really have in an objective manner.

But you are right the Brits are the worst offenders off this, I remember a year or so ago when Kell Brook said he could beat Cotto in a B-scene report and they were all in the thread agreeing and sucking Brook off.

I had never seen Brook before so I found his last 3 fights and just started laughing at the prospect that he would even last 6 with Miguel let alone beat him.

^^^^^ All hyped up more than British fighters during the years. Tell me, why do you have a chip on your shoulder over a small, island nation, nestled in the far away Atlantic?

Those guys deserved the hype. And every other country does the exact same thing, it's not just Britain.

plenty of fighters are hyped up pretty lame to single out british ones. For example Tommy Morrison was hyped more than any of the fighters you mentioned.

I mean they are hyped by the media, HBO, Ring magazine, this site. not saying it is biased people hyping them was just wondering why. Obviously I have hit a nerve and this wasnt supposed to be a diss or anything like that. My bad for causing any upsets
