So I dont buy the margarito has been exposed plasterless theory. My opinion is that he was dealing just as much hurt and punishment as in the 1st fight but the bad eye being targeted slowed him down a bit. And for that reason id takd marg over cotto in a 3rd fight.
well the punchstats tell a different story. the punch stats have cotto throwing much higher punches and accuracy than the first fight and have margarito TOTAL throwing much lower amounts of punches than the first fight. that said I think what you say is partially true, i.e. margarito DID slow down a lot since the first fight (he's mostly shot) and was not as effective BUT it was still starting to get into dangerous territory for Cotto. he started running and was looking like he was coming under the will of Margarito again. It looked like he might weather it but I'd honestly feel worried for him by the 12th round if that fight went on. I definitely see a 3rd fight being competitive once more as long as Margarito's eye doesn't cut

what makes you think his eye wont be getting swollen anymore in the third fight?

Where is it confirmed by any scantioning body or w/e authority he was an elite? I googled, and seen some "opinions" but nothing solid. Not trying to take that away from him, if he was elite, fine, but if it's just some people opinion, it don't make it so.

Pac ruined his career, he's done man. All you gotta do is target that eye.

Yeah I admire marg for going all 12 with pac, but if the corner stopped it earlier marg might have beat cotto and still have a career.

Cotto is done with him. He got his revenge, even better, leaving tony thinking he could have won if the fight continued. Coto will never have anything to do with him again, ever. no more big paydays for Tony. Case is closed. He avenged his loss.

            And did it well.

That eye is done, and anyone Margarito fights will be able to close it in two or three rounds. Cotto showed that.

i can only find articles that say both Tony and Cotto were both elite when they 1st fought, but seems to be mostly opinion and i can't find any facts to back this up. I don't think either was ever elite.

Floyd and Pac are Elite. My opinion is Tony nor Cotto were not officially, but i could very well be wrong about that. If somebody could post proof of some official sanctioning body or authority ranking him an elite, that would be cool. Opinions don't count.

You're not allowed to even imply this, much less brazenly state it as you have, it's against the law.

Just go along with the moral majority and claim that Cotto is The Fistic Genius Who Ate Cleveland, that it was a shut-out, that Tony never laid a paw on him and was about to be knocked out.

It was Rios who made the mimicry not Margarito. This has been pointed out before.
