WITH ALL DUE RESPECT...Is Freddie Roach Slipping?

I am extremely respectful of Freddie's illness, and I realize it's a tough thing to deal with.

But in the context of boxing, is he still able to give his fighters everything that they need? Especially when he has his top guys fighting in close successive time periods like Chavez>Pac>Khan just did?

I don't think Freddie looked particularly strong in the corner on Saturday night. And during the postfight interview, Freddie seemed to be trembling more than I've seen previously.

Should Freddie reduce his workload...and should the guys in his stable be considering a Plan B?

I didn't see the postfight interview, but I was thinking he's taken on too much of a workload before i even factored in Chavez.

I'll be extremely disappointed if the title of this thread isn't a Godfather reference.

You win some you lose some.

with that said he probably should take on a smaller work load and not spread himself thin. His health is going to get worse and I know he lives and breathes boxing but maybe slowing it down a bit could be a good thing. He could hire more guys to handle the bulk of his workload at his gym.

I know there are a lot of people who really dislike roach for whatever reasons but at the end of the day he's a boxing guy, has been great for the sport and it's going to be sad to see him deteriorate until eventually he just wont be able to train anymore.

I was kind of thinking the same thing.

After the rounds where Khan was taking punishment, I was waiting to hear what Roach had to say and I didn't hear much.

I have nothing against FR, but it was kind of awkward to watch him in there.......probably because I hadn't been keeping up with boxing for a little while and didn't realise how far into his illness he was getting.

Freddy said that he gets really nervous during fights. So, I think that explains how bad he was trembling during the post fight.

Five years ago, would I be able to get to him?

That is why he had brought on Michael Moorer. But Moorer's people skills were so bad, that he was alienating people in the gym.

I know that he lets Ariza take on more and more. I now see Ariza almost as the asst trainer in the corner. But Alex is not a boxing guy.

He was trembling when Khan was being interview which is a surprise to me since i thought he would be on some kind of medication that prevent that, For me he just doesnt seem to have a back up plan or what to say whenever his fighters arent getting the better of their opponents.
