Uphold the rules for both fighters though. Dont deduct 2 points from Khan for pushing, and NOT deduct points from Peterson for coming in with his head the entire 12 rounds.

    • Good post! Not a totally fare one as its a tad one sided...But I totally agree Khan, was way over the top with the pushing, And the ref did tell him countless times..I think the ref was **** on for once? Just because we are all use to the ref supporting and protecting the bigger star in the fight don't mean its right..Good work by the ref I say.. But Khan did give us all a good fight as well as Petterson!

      Peace

Show me where in the rules it says you're not allowed to move in with your head low.

"Leading with the head" only becomes a problem if you are headbutting, which Peterson did not do and showed no intention of doing.

Headbutting is against the rules. Having your head in front of your knee and moving forwards is not.

The only rule is that you are not allowed to duck lower than your opponents waist, which Peterson didn't do either.

You dont get to pick and choose the rules. The rules are the rules.

If it was just the pushing, Khan might have got away with it, but with all the holding behind the neck, elbows, forearms, headlocks and holding Petersons glove on the refs blindside, hitting on the break, he deserved to be punished.

Talking about refs looking at past footage to see what a fighter likes to do?

Khan likes to push off illegally.

That means the ref needs to lick his nuts and let him do its because its his favourite thing to do to make up for the fact that he cant fight inside?

If anything, it shows that referees up until this point have been ALLOWING Khan to better hide the fact that he cant fight inside by ALLOWING his ILLEGAL pushing.

Turning off of the ropes is a recognised ability/strategy for a reason. Even Khan was doing it.

You dont use illegal moves to make up for your deficiencies and its not something people should encourage either.

We should be encouraging Khan to go back to the gym and learn how to fight
inside, not be upset that the ref didn't allow him to foul to make up for his
            lack of inside ability.

Get the hell outta here /italian accent
I have previously answered every ****** little point that you just made, soyou can look through my post history if you are really that bored.

But based on what you say I guess Muhammad Ali arguably the greatest fighter ever needed to get back in the gym and learn to beat Frazier without pulling his head down and pushing off, and I guess we should discourage people to fight like Willie Pep, arguably the greatest featherweight ever because he pushed off all the way through his career. Yes that can of worms I talked about is starting to open...GTFOH with that BS!

I will agree to disagree with you because this conversation is so boring now it is starting to make me want to poke out my own eyeballs...might be a good idea on second thought then maybe il start seeing things like you.

            Goodbye

You have guys from the UK saying KHAN IS PUSHING AND GONNA GET A POINT DEDUCTED, YET THE HBO CREW ACT LIKE ****IN ******S..... I like the SKY BROADCASTS to be honest. I didnt even see the HBO REPLAY OF FLOYD MOSLEY UNTIL THEY AIRED IT AGAIN THE NEXT WEEK, BUT WHEN I LISTENED TO THE COMMENTATION it seemed as if it was a completely different fight... Especially how biased the HBO crew is...

I swear as I watched this fight and I heard the ref the first time say "stop pushing" it was crazy to me because thats when I first noticed all the pushing an it seemed as if KHAN GOT EVEN MORE BRAZEN WITH THE PUSHING... All the kan fans crying, its in the rules you cant push. I have seen REFS WARN FLOYD ABOUT PUSHING, AND FLOYD WILL STOP OR AT LEAST NOT BE AS OBVIOUS... KHAN DID IT EVEN MORESO....
I also prefer SkySports over HBO - any day!

I just saw Madiana vs. Khan again and Khan used the same tactics in that fight too, although not as often. He did it way too many times in his fight with Peterson.

Reason: Khan can't figure out how to clinch properly.

Every time he's pressured or tries to survive on the inside, he'll either push you off with fully extended arms or hold your head down. Maidana clearly got irritated in the end and in result tried to throw an elbow from behind that didn't land on anyone (graced Cortez), and yet he got 1 point deducted with no warning.

Khan lost in a close fight. He should accept it, pursue a rematch, and move on. Dissing a whole state and the fans that paid to watch him and taking everything away from Peterson is disrespectful and childish. That's the main reason why he isn't even liked in the UK - because of his behavior and arrogance. Kid needs to change his attitude.

              • I gotta say I have never really seen someone push so overly blatant like that. I have seen Floyd Mayweather push to create offensive distance because he was being held(Ali as well), I have seen offensive pushing to avoid a counter while they were coming in(more like bum rushing), but I have never seen someone actually rush in to push someone away from them. It didnt look good or with tact, it kinda just looked desperate but hey thats just my opinion.

I thought common sense was common, shoutout to Deevel916 for trying to compare 50+ illegal pushing to 0 headbutts.

@0:42 stopped it to tell him to stop pushing even after yelling at him to stop.
@0:47 "Last one, stop pushing".... huh?!
This is on Sky, these guys are less biased than HBO and they're breaking British (pointing out that their fellow countryman is in the ring).
@1:58, they point out that he should be losing or could be losing points for pushing the head down!
I need to look for Sky streams
Id much rather watch Sky or Boxnation at this point. You could easily tell who HBO wanted to win. Max was the only one that commented on how worthless Khan's combos were towards the end.

The level of consistency in refereeing is poor overall.
Just about every push accurred while Peterson's head was at chest level, not low. Floyd has the decency to camoflauge it. Cotto was actually marching Margs back which is illegal but tolerable on occassion. Khan's was a blatant disregard for the ref mixed with I dont know what the hell else to do. He says it was because he thought he'd get headbutted but he was never butted.
