It wouldn't be better for Lacy, he has a very small skeleton with steroid-pumped muscles and could easily make 160 (as he says).

I have been calling this bout a u pickem for at least a year but after viwing Calzaghe's last two fights and watching LAcy I have to slightly give thedge to Left Hook.

Keep in mind I will be rooting for Calzaghe...me and my brother have had a bet for the last two years on this fight.

I think some of you need to be careful...you seem to not want to give Lacy crdit for his victory over Reid or Pemberton...sure I dont think either guy looked good but give LAcy credit he blew away too guys who dont get blown away.

If you want to be critical of a blowout like we saw last saturday against Pemberton what the hell are you to say when you watch Joe's performacne against Salem?

Despite what people say Jope is no boxer, Ilove him because of his pressure and his willingness to mix it up...LAcy is very similiar...neither guy has big big one punch power but both will certainly hurt you. Joe has the slight edge in handspeed and Lacy has the definate edge in youth...the chins...thyats a tough one...

Close mother****ing fight that is for sure...but with everyday that Joe lets pass he gives Lacy and even bigger advantage then he already has...this fight if it takes place will leave us in awe, Im convinced-it will set punch stat records, create new fans and most importantly for Showtime get them off to an amazing start in 2006.

              But...

How many times have we talk about Calzaghe vs. (big name opponent)...a whole helluvas a lot and this is coming from a guy that is in Joe's corner for sure!

It's no joke that Calzaghe must be emotionally scared (his wife had an affair with somebody else and split from Joe), his personal problems were very evident in his fight with Salem where he looked a shadow of his former self and looked as if his head was elsewhere (looked awful against Salem). He also didn't look very good against Veit (withstood too many Veit right hands), and then appeared quite slow against blown-up Ashira before breaking his hand.

Also, it's well known that Calzaghe has been really struggling to make 168 in these last few years and is barely managing it. (Calzaghe would stand a much better chance of beating Lacy if the fight was at 175).

So it all depends on whether Calzaghe can roll back the years or not, that's what it comes down to basically.

Joe was never that good he best win was against Eubank but he was very rusty and way out of his prime.

there is some good footage of lacy working out on the showtime web site. i watched it the other night, i dont think his conditioning is based on steroids like some claim, i think the guy genuinely trains very hard. you guys should watch the footage, there isnt much but the exercises are good.

and Eubank was SEVERELY weight-drained for Calzaghe (and unprepared)..
