He was asked to move up weight which still his walking weight but what did he said? He is small for those guys. Pirog calling him and offered his biggest payday but he/advisers/promoter declined it. Well, even though I am new here... I have to agree that this is sort of pointless... I mean calling any boxer, specially one as great and exciting as Martinez a "Bum" is, to me at least, a bit disrespectful and narrow-minded... specially when you're outside looking in... just the 10% that wee see... not the 90% that goes on where stuff gets going... I believe in all honesty that Martinez WANTS to fight the best guys at his weight... he is an older guy who started at an age where boxers are peaking... and still, at least to my knowledge he has not back down ANY fights in his weight... in fact I believe it might as well be the opposite.

Martinez has proven to be a guy that rises to the challenge... in the ring he has shown guts, brilliance, excitement a true athlete that doesn't rely on bravado or mind games... and always ALWAYS carries himself with lots of class.

You can't say that of many other fighters.

I don't like how desperate Martinez comes off in his pursuit of Mayweather and Pacquiao, but since he's gotten his chance at the big time he has consistently fought very good competition. Darren Barker was bad, but that was one fight.

Any news on his next opponent? I remember hearing something but never seeing if it was finalized.

i'm not saying pac can't fight martinez at 150, but how significant of a fight would that be? not that much. people will just ***** and moan about the 150lb catchweight. plus pac is too small to weigh above 150lbs..during weigh-in or fight night.
