Sergio Martinez is the biggest hypocrite in boxing

“Martinez said Manny Pacquiao is working his business by picking boxers he knows he can beat and are pretty close to retirement. He is picking guys that are easy to beat so when you do this, it isn’t hard to be pound-for-pound and, if we fought I would beat him by knock out.”

2005 - Pacquiao is fighting Erik Morales
    2005 - Martinez is fighting a 2-3-0 bum.

He might as well change his nickname from Maravilla to "Bumbilla" since he loves lighting up bums.

Fact is, this guy hasn't fought a legit opponent ti'l 2009 in which he got a draw against Cintron and loss against PWill That's 12 years of boxing fighting nobodies. His best win is against a shot Kelly Pavlik whose already been beaten by a 68 year old Hopkins. And now he's calling out the top 2 Welterweights Pac and Mayweather who he thinks he can easily beat, he'll probably beat Pac cause of his poor defense and height/weight disadvantage but this guy has no chance of beating Mayweather at all. 0. Not hating just saying.

It obviously took Sergio longer to gain recognition.

I mean, you know that. So why make this pointless, ******ed thread?

Martinez has gone from fighting these bums to destroying Paul Williams and the lineal MW champion Kelly Pavlik. He'd also beat the brakes off of Pacquiao, who was fine with fighting for Sergio's title, but not fighting Sergio himself.

The dude is calling out the #1 and #2 p4p fighters in a weight class they already fought in, because he's p4p #3. How does that make him a bum? Are you saying that every fighter in boxing is a bum? **** outta here.

      Terrible thread.

And Martinez saying Pac fighting dead guys but he is calling Pac leftovers.

He asking Pac and Floyd to move up more weights to fight him and when asked Martinez to fight at 161++, "those guys are bigger than me".

I understand than he only after for "Money" but lately, he is getting worst.

Definitely in the running for one of the worst threads of the year.

Cause he's padding his record fighting bums for 12 years. Hey, atleast Arum knows how to pad Pac's record well.

Well, even though I am new here... I have to agree that this is sort of pointless... I mean calling any boxer, specially one as great and exciting as Martinez a "Bum" is, to me at least, a bit disrespectful and narrow-minded... specially when you're outside looking in... just the 10% that wee see... not the 90% that goes on where stuff gets going... I believe in all honesty that Martinez WANTS to fight the best guys at his weight... he is an older guy who started at an age where boxers are peaking... and still, at least to my knowledge he has not back down ANY fights in his weight... in fact I believe it might as well be the opposite.

Martinez has proven to be a guy that rises to the challenge... in the ring he has shown guts, brilliance, excitement a true athlete that doesn't rely on bravado or mind games... and always ALWAYS carries himself with lots of class.

You can't say that of many other fighters.
