As always your opinion is to be respected and I cannot really disagree on the poinst you make except for one thing: Those wins, regardless of how good or bad he looked, does not IMO warrant the high p4p ranking he posesses. That is because it is my opinion that rankings should be based on actual achievements rather than potential and the wins on his record is not good enough IMO.
The Williams win was what made Sergio enter the ranking in the first place, but I found Williams vastly overrated at that point.
In the end p4p rankings are highly subjective obviously and this thread craves subjective opinions by definition. I gave mine. Others can have theirs and thats ok.
I really can't argue with that. It's hard to say what win would push him to that point where his ranking would be indisputable. But like any champion, he should start in his own division - Pirog, perhaps?
Over. Don't get me wrong, I was on the hype train back when he beat Cintron twice in one fight and ended up getting robbed. But in all honesty, after watching the Barker fight, I'm not sold on Martinez going up to '68 or '75 and doing well against technicians (Wright, Dawson, etc...)
