Cotto's fans like to talk about "class". Well, here's an amusing and telling recollection from the event; the lone Mexican in our block of seating (accompanied by his GF/wife), after proudly singing along to his nation's anthem, respectfully applauding the PR anthem in a classy show of disregard for the fact that his own anthem had just been vociferously jeered and hissed at by almost all those around him for its duration.

No way was Tony getting stopped in that fight by anything other than doctor's orders. GTFO.

Get over it. We get it your guy lost but excuse after excuse is not "talking about the fight"

You're using 3 "what if" rounds to justify a robbery when the for 75% of the fight was a complete domination/beatdown. You simply have no leg to stand on and just resort to excuse

You can say Cotto fans were butthurt for 3 years but now its the Marg fans and you're their butthurt leader
Actually ive never said that but keep projecting!

I don't see the 'Margarito's pressure was telling' thing that people are talking about.

It looked pretty clear to me that Cotto had no respect for Margs' punches in the last few rounds. He was still moving when he wanted to, but in the 9th he was setting up close to Margs and trading with him, and it was Cotto landing all the big punches. Margs' punches were being shrugged off and he was being pushed to the ropes more and more.

There was no sign of a stoppage either way IMO, just another 3 rounds of Margs taking a beating.

Ordinarily, I wouldn't mention it. But when one group of fanboys puts so much emphasis on the virtue of "class" while exhibiting none, it seems wholly apropos to make the observation.

                BTW,

**** off, you frontrunning ****. You have no interest in either Cotto or Margarito and have only jumped this whole furore so you could run your yap and feel cool about being on the "vindicated", "winning" team. Stop trying to fit in and leave this fanatical crowing to the PR's and actual Cotto supporters, who do it far better than you ever will.

This may come as a shock to you, but there are respectful Mexicans just as there are respectful Puerto Ricans. Brits were booing the American anthem at Floyd/Hatton fight...what's your point? What does this have to do with the FIGHT?!

Generally, the closer you are to the ring, the more respectful and "classy" people tend to act. Up in the stands, you have the "masses". The people that shell out no more than 50 dollars or so for tickets and are drunk as hell, no objectivity whatsoever, etc, etc. These are the same people that were walking out of the MGM after Pacquiao/Marquez III, spewing incredibly ****** things like: "JMM won EVERY ROUND! He won ALL THREE FIGHTS!"

I've said it a million times on this board, a lot of posters here tend to look at things black-and-white and often don't try to understand the other person's perspectives.

I understand what you're saying about Margarito, I really do. I personally would've liked the fight to go on so we could've had a legit closure and so we wouldn't be in this mess. However, given Margarito's eye, and the fact that Cotto wasn't tiring like he was in the first fight, I believe Margarito was clearly on his way to losing either by a wide UD or a stoppage (either in the round or in the corner). That's my honest opinion.

And if it makes you feel any better, I'll even give you that between Cotto, Mosley, and Pacquiao...Cotto was the "least" impressive of the three. But even like that, he still made Margarito look very, very bad.

                  My two cents, Stones.

No chance. Not if they fought 100 times.

Where did I say it had anything to do with the action in the ring? I direct you to the first paragraph of post #57. All I can tell you is I observed a distinct disparity in "respectful" behaviour. Y'know, that "class" your countrymen here are always talking about.

There was no British fighter in this bout, which is why I'm not mentioning the British.

That's as far as I read; since it was apparent within the first few lines that you'd misapprehended my statement, there wasn't much point in reading the rest. Good day.
