No lie I was about to say the same thing.

Cotto is by far a better boxer than Sergio and if Miguel can handle his speed, then I could see him beating Sergio.

Come to think of it, the Judah Cotto faced was much faster than Sergio, so I doubt that would be much of an issue as well.

Martinez would put Cotto's head to bed.

im not sure about your synopsis, though! martinez can't fight going backwards, and he has NO DEFENSIVE GUARD! He eats jabs and straights like nobody's business. . . Martinez would have a hard time getting to Cotto because he could make the target zone to hit so small. . . Power jabs into Martinez all night, followed by combo's. . . Cotto then turns Martinez all night long. . .
I don't know. Martinez is definitely more durable than Cotto and hits alot harder. Also, I think Martinez is the better boxer. Cotto has a history of getting caught by big shots, wobbled and holding on. Martinez takes punches and comes back to win big. Sergio would KO Cotto in my opinion.

Let's stop being haters and just look at reality. Cotto has zero chance against Martinez! He got lumped up from the 5 punches Margarito landed a round. Martinez will put on a clinic with Cotto. To question Martinez stamina is laughable. Martinez v Williams. He was ready to **** 15 rounds. Cotto is a good fighter. Martinez is the class of boxing today.
When Martinez mops Chavez Jr up. Cotto will not wanna speak his name.

I didn't know Cotto fans were so dilusional. I like Cotto lost some respect for him lately he just doesn't seem mentaly disciplined against pressure. However, Martinez is another level of athelete Cotto still has to plant both feet to get any power off Martinez by ko alla pac in round 3 and 4

I like and think Sergio Martinez is a great fighter but have to say that his people are not handling him right in terms of marketability.

i agree, i love his style, but im getting kinda tired of his b.s. His promoter isnt handling martinez right, but right here is a huge opportunity to get the ball rolling. Alot of eyes would watch this fight, he'd get alot of exposure, and money, for a fight he has a good chance of winning (tho i dont count out cottos boxing skills and power). This is a golden egg for martinez.

Both fighters are planning on fighting on march 17...why not 'move forward' with cotto? The fight is not always gonna be there, cotto is gonna fight a few more times, pac/floyd is probably in there somewhere.

Real Talk. Cotto would probably not make it out of the fight. Cotto earned my respect attitude wise as a fighter but since I first started watching him fight back when he was at 140, I knew that he had flaws and defensively would take too much punishment which he has. Martinez is an elite fighter. Cotto is good but not on that level. That's why I always laughed when people said Floyd ducked Cotto. If you think about it stylistically and technical wise. Floyd would massacre Cotto just off of the simple fact that Floyd uses his head and can adapt under pressure and change up styles on the fly. Cotto has never been that kind of fighter. Martinez finds ways and adjust too. Once Cotto punch is taking away and pressure applied, dude is nervous.

Couldn't agree more. And what's up with him admiring his work. He'll land something good and stand there chin up in the air might take a slow step straight back he's never ready for someone to answer. Sure cotto did well against judah and mosley cuz those guys fight in bursts they have lapses in intensity
