It might be a little too late for that but at least he knows now he no longer the same fighter he was and he has to adjust his game.

Check out the interview he did with Max Kellerman's radio show 3 days ago.

    That was great man thanks...

you people act like roy cant make a comeback. roy has something left in the tank, and if he tweaks his style a bit he can easily get a few more years in the game.

roy is workin with yankello right now, who is a pretty defensive trainer. if roy gets his defense up i dont see why he cant continue to fight, its not like hes fighting a monster here. who are any of yall to tell him to hang em up, what he lost a few fights in a row? he was within second of the final bell against Lebedev, is russia and he was up on one of the judges cards! act like the guy cant still box, really?

That's all real talk right there. I wish Roy would have decided to get a new trainer like Tom sooner though, but being the man he is didn't want accept that he needed anything to change. It's good he got somebody like Tom from the outside to tell him how it really is to put it in true perspective to Roy.

I hate to say this b/c I don't like to belittle anyone's opinion, but quite frankly you don't know **** about Boxing. To advocate for RJJ to continue, at a big boy weight of 190+ pounds, is utter ******ity. Anyone that knows Boxing will tell you that Roy was never a technical boxer to begin with. But he was blessed with video game speed and it covered up many flaws. Those days are long gone and all Roy has left is the occasional lead right, a jab that is followed by NOTHING and he doesn't work behind, followed up by shoe shine to buy time then a poor man's Winky Wright earmuff defense on the ropes HOPING not to get bombed out. And I've heard all of these "gimmicks" before about Roy tweaking this and Roy tweaking that, but anyone that truly knows Boxing just wants this former PHENOM to get the **** away from this sport before he becomes a "Meldrick Taylor." Now that's real talk.

Like when he said he would retire if he didn't beat Tarver the second time? Or when he said he would retire if he didn't knock out Trinidad in four? Or talking about retirement after getting beat by Green and Hopkins... Roy will never retire and he said his goal is a new cruiserweight title fight if he beats Alexander, like a victory over Alexander would mean anything at all... No top fighter should be willing to fight Jones anymore, it not like he's a draw in US anymore so if he want's a title fight he will have to travel again...

Well Roy likes to compete that's just in his blood being a successful boxer. The way he’s feeling right now, being 100% focus on training at the moment and having the best training camp he hasn’t had in a long time. So if he loses knowing he prepared to be 100% and gets blown out 1st or 2nd Round ala Green or Tarver he will retire especially if it’s happens by the hands of Max Alexander.

Jones is FINISHED....DONE...STICK A FORK IN HIM!!! He has been done for years and even went to the doctors because of neurological disorders a few years ago and that was before he was knocked out by Green and then knocked COLD by Lebedev. He has been washed up for YEARS!! The dude will not stop till he winds up dead or in the hospital.

This becomes a question of ethics. Should he be allowed to continue to make a living getting his brains bashed in and understanding the consequences?

                      It is an ethical issue.

A similar thing happened to a guy in my country.

His family repeatedly petitioned the commission to withdraw his license due to the fact that he was clearly punch-drunk and had been slurring his speech for years...... eventually they even pushed for a court order through the legal system, which was denied.

It actually divided the family and drove them apart.

                      Unbelievable.

The fact is, nobody will ever tell Roy when to quit.

So what do we do, refuse to buy his fights ?

A very sad situation, I wish I had an answer.
