i did think the doc could have let the fight continue but i don't think it would have changed the outcome, cotto was much better tactically in this fight than in the first

It's actually quite astounding how ignorant some people are on here, acting as if Cotto was in bits at the end of the 9th and didn't want to continue and the doctor saved him. I don't know what fight you were watching, but Margarito barely layed a glove on him. I know it's not an ideal way for any fight to end, but Cotto won pretty much every round.

You Margarito fans need to stop *****ing about nothing and take the defeat like men.

im not even a margarito fan, and im neutral in all this im just not hyped up on this bs they tryin to sell me. as for excuses there will always be excuses its part of the sport. Yeah margarito BARELY laid a glove on him you must of had a ****ty stream hahaha, One question though If cotto lost the first fight and he really wanted to fight margarita again WHY in msg? man thats theme thing that happen in the first fight how many of yall thought margarito was gonna outbox cotto. quit talking out yalls azzes and try to act like cotto ko margarita. The truth is the fight was stop too early and cotto never really hurt mar, AND margarito was starting to get to cotto. Call it like it is dont over hype this **** up man......And whats up with all the hating on marg is not like he hasnt paid the price for the wrapps. No, it's not the same thing as the first fight cus Margs never established any momentum in this fight and didn't put in the work in the middle rounds to stop Cotto late. Nothing in the 9th round suggested Margs would have had any success in the last 3 rounds. In my unprofessional opinion Cotto started to set up a possible surge to stop Margs. He was using his leverage in close and started sitting on his punches a little more which tells me Cotto knew he put in the work and was looking for a possible stoppage. If you think the fight being stopped early helped Cotto more than it helped Margs in this fight you're being ignorant. If anything it saved his eye from more damage like possibly losing his...hmm... eyesight.

Cotto outboxed Margarito easily and with or without the eye injury Cotto wouldve won by UD 119-109. Margarito only won 1 rd the whole fight. But I have to agree that the stoppage was unnecessary Margarito was never hurt and did continue to attack. I honestly believe both should retire, Margarito should retire now he's ****, his eye cant hold, and his reputation has just been tarnished with the lopsided loss, and Cotto maybe after one more big payday should live as a King in PR.

Didn't need a stream, mate....i was ringside in the Garden. He wanted the fight in MSG because that's where he'd get the most support. MSG is like a suburb of Puerto Rico - did you not hear the support he got? The first time they fought, it was in front of a pro-Margarito crowd in Vegas.

these swellings happen all the time in mma and you rarely if ever see fights stopped.


whats even more sickening is that

1. margarito was never hurt during fight
2. cotto was fading fast
3. margarito pleaded to continue
4. fight was near the end
5.about 20,0000 boxers have had worse injuries and been allowed to continue
6. the wins a fluke
7. cotto and his fans are trying to make it seem like a good victory when it is not .
8. cotto literally ran at times and turned it into a amateur match .

so basically cotto never hurt margarito ... he just ran and flicked jabs which swoll margaritos " bad eye that manny pacman messed up ". and got a gift victory from the doctor ...

anyone who says Cotto wasn't ever hurt doesn't know **** about boxing. Marg landed a good shot at about 2:05 in the 7th round the HURT cotto and he was running and holding the entire fight

Marg was more hurt in the second round against Pac than both his fights with Cotto combined
