In Chavez's recent fight he demonstrated good counter punching ability.
He was able to block punches alot better than before as well.

I'm not saying this kid has super sharp technique, but it's something that he's building up along the way since he had no amateur background, unfortunately.

Hey dumazz, What's cotto suppose to say? I can't make 147 anymore when that's where the big money is at? Its just like when he said bob will always be his promoter last night when we all know that was a lie. He can say whatever he wants to say, cotto can't beat any of the elite fighters at 147 certainly not Floyd not Pacquiao he probably wouldn't even beat khan at 47. Cotto is clearly a lot weaker at 147 now at 154 he atleast had enough power to keep marg off him for a while but like I said before cotto was starting to gass last night, and at 147 he would have gassed out combine that with the fact that his punches have a lot less pop at 47 and u have another receipe for disaster.. cottos face held up a lot better at 54 too

                Go away BOB!

Cotto v Chavez should never happen. Arum obviously doesn't give a **** about Cotto. Its time to jump ship Miguel, there are solid fights that can be made at 154 and they can be held at MSG, where the paydays will be nice. What business does Bob have putting him in with a young strong kid who weighed 180 pounds against Manfredo two weeks ago. He can go to Golden Boy, and possibly negotiate a Mayweather fight. If not this then others such as Canelo, Kirkland, Angulo, even Martinez could be a possibility.

Leave Top Rank as soon as possible Miguel!

I agree. Cotto is in the twilight of his career and should only fight someone like Cory Spinks, Mosley or Clottey. Margarito was still walking through a lot of Cotto's punches and was able to have some success. Chavez is too big for Cotto and Martinez would murder either one of them.

if Cotto can box Margarito, one of the most relentless pressure fighters of his generation, there's no reason he can't do it against Chavez.

He can make 147 with no problems, he is a small jr. middleweight, he is a natural welter and he should fight there and he will do that, and your opinion doesn't matter to me but you needed to act like an idiot and reply to my posts. Shut the **** up, you are a moron, probably you have haven't passed primary school and feel that should impose your ****** point of view to others, replying with insults to other people's posts.

                      **** you you moronic imbecile.
