I agree Marg would not have seen 12 but I also think Cotto just wanted to punish him for 12 rds. The fight Cotto Fought was a thing of beauty he took some things froim Mosley fight and I think the 3rd he did a few Pac moves. Margarito made this a fight worth watching, Cotto won legit but he didnt prove anything lol I wouldnt be happy with that victory I guess even though Margs eye wasnt as bad as some ive seen that still continue but whatever. People keep saying the mierda they always say about plaster and redemption, lol if Cotto really thought Marg used plaster then he wouldnt have been running for 9 rds holding and pushing Tonys head down when he got to close for comfort. He felt Tonys non-stop pressure and he was getting worn down his face was marked up too, if Tony used Cletos then he might have cut him again too. It looked exactly like the first fight, with the exception that Margs already damaged eye took a lot of shots and swelled up. Pacquiao and his ridged knuckle padding helped Cotto win this fight by stoppage. For the people saying that Cotto was going to KO Marg anyways then you are all ******ed, I never saw Tony hurt, I saw Cotto tho hold everyime he got hit good to the body.


Either way Cotto won and I think Diaz was a big help, but where will he go from here? Lol people saying he would beat all these dudes now because he outboxed a brawler lol Cotto left most his power behind at 140 and all of it after 147. If he stepped in there with any of the current champs at 154 I think he will lose. Id like to see him fight Angulo and I know people gonna talk how he was KO by Kirk lol but Angulo is Margarito except he has 1 punch power that would make for an exciting fight.

No sir Cotto did not stop Margarito the Dr stopped Margarito in Margaritos best round where suddenly it was looking like maybe there is a repeat coming once it seemed like miguel was gassed the Drs stopped the fight bull**** stoppaged seriously straight up this was about to be Tonys fight and the second that happend the Drs stopped the fight Miguel doesnt even look as if he believe he won this fight thats how pre mature it was I am ashamed that I have puerto rican blood in my body thats a ****ing fact

I was pissed the fight was stopped too. In fact, Miguel didn't want the fight to stop either...he wanted to beat that ass even more. There are many other honorable, legitimate Mexican warriors out there to support. You need to move beyond your love affair with this phony who shames true Mexican greats like JMM (who also believes Tony cheated). This fool is 6ft tall, outweighs his opponents by 20lbs, and continues to get his ass kicked by midgets (mosely, pac, cotto), and he's some kind of "warrior"? You need to move on my boricua brother.

It's funny to read some of these comments, the same people saying cotto took advantage of the already damage eye of Marg and fought half of the time back stepping without really engaging with Marg. didn't u guys call that smart boxing? Funny how things changed.

Great fight, electric atmosphere. Not sure if this has been discussed but did HBO mention the fight night weights? Antonio Margarito looked like a light heavyweight in there, man he was huge. Plaster or no plaster, not too many 147-154lbers would've been able to withstand a lot of those blows. Cotto wisely stayed away but even then his face looked a little worse for wear afterward. His stamina (or lack thereof), which has been questionable throughout his career, reared it's ugly head again. The fight might have been a lot closer if the doctor didn't stop the fight although I don't believe Margarito would've stopped him. I rooted hard for Margarito when these guys fought for the first time but yesterday I was really happy to see Miguel get his revenge. Hope he takes a long vacation and comes back ready to make the best, and most profitable bouts to close out his career.

Great point. Many people get caught up in this "warrior" label of Margarito. Look at the facts. He is 6ft tall and probably outweighs most of his opponents by 20lbs on fight night, resorts to loaded wraps - and because he doesn't quit while getting his ass kicked by "midgets" (esp, Pac and Cotto), he's some kind of warrior...not really.

Finally a ppv worth all the hype. Margarito should consider retirement or the next fighter he get's in the ring with is going to blind him permanently.
