To be fair, hé did beat Johnson in style, which in my book qualifies him for a shot at Ward/Froch/Kessler.

Hmmm I'm pretty sure the fight would make the most money in Canada, regardless of who wins the S6. If you want the highest gate = Canada, if you want a neutral ground = NYC.
Highest (live) gate would be Nottingham.

I take it you expect Ward to win the Super 6?

Huh? Showtime never invited him to participate. They were going for an American vs Europe angle.

Yeah, rooting for a Froch win though.

From what I've seen, Bute draws bigger crowds than Froch.

so if Bute just so happens to beat the winner...does that make him the BEST SMW?.....or do we have to start from scratch again?...because I don't care if Bute has ALL the belts...he won't be the man in the division in my book...HELL NO!!!!! .....I hope Froch or Ward DESTROYS dude!!

Maybe you guys are right, but Froch doesn't fight at home much (for the big fights) and he drew around 10,000 at 2am in the morning v Dirrell. I'd expect that figure to go up significantly if he wins the Super 6 and fights at a normal hour.

Bute is a such a *** and so is his promoter.

I have been saying for years now that Bute against the S6 winner is a pipe dream.

Now we see Bedard throwing up 2 roadblocks before the tournament ends.

                    1) We must be involved in the promotion- IE, I care about my money, not Bute's legacy.

                    and

                    2) If we fight in the US, it will only be in New York.

For those of you who suck at geography, which is probably most of you,
Montreal is only a 5.5 hr drive directly south to New York City. A much shorter distance than Ward or Froch fans would have to travel to make the fight.

So Bedard is basically saying "If either of these guys want to fight my man they have to share the promotion and agree to fight in the only US city where Bute will have the majority of the crowd behind him.

This fight belongs in Las Vegas, Whether it is Ward or Froch fighting Bute none of these guys have ever competed in the Mecca of boxing and that is where a high profile fight like this one belongs.

Fight should ALWAYS be where the most money/support is.
