Cotto looks at his corner for a brief second... stands up and faces the ref, and willingly accepts the ref giving him the standing 8 count... if at that point the ref didnt stop him, or the corner never came in, and the ref would of said fight... the clock would of continued and the fight would go on.

Obviously NOT MUCH LONGER... but the fact is... he DID get up... he DID watch the ref give him a standing 8 count.

If Cotto truly wanted to quit, he would of just stayed on his knee until he was counted out.

He took a knee for a break from the damage, but got back up.

The only reason the fight was stopped was that the towel was thrown in.

I voted yes but I'm rethinking the vote.

but he wasn't even touched Marg didn't throw a punch

Except that Cotto Pinto ran outta gas cuz' he was getting strafed by a tank. So he was forced to quit or get totally smashed up.

No matter if you fought in the ring, played basketball, football, or whatever; when you don't have legs and can't go anymore, you simply can't go anymore. You didn't quit.

Those that have been in real fights, know when someone simply doesn't have legs, punches, or anything left in the gas tank to continue. Or simply has had "enough" and can't continue. They know the difference between Ortiz and Cotto.

Those that are keyboard/couch warriors know how to sit behind a t.v and think someone quit simply because they wouldn't fight to the death for their own entertainment.
he had enough legs to run across the ring backwards tho

He hadn't recovered from the previous exchange and was trying to recover then.

If he wanted to quit (We've seen it a thousand times) he would have stayed on his knee or got up at 10 to make it seem like kinda wanted to fight.

He stood up shortly after going down. Not typical behavior of a quitter IMO.

That right there means he didn't quit. Whether it was because of a tank or a tricycle.

He quit because there was no reason to retreat half across the ring to then take a knee right as Margarito was getting closer unless he didn't want to fight anymore. He wanted to get out of there and his corner got the point.
