Did Cotto Quit In The First Fight Against Tony?

1.Raiders suck
2.He not only quit, he left something in the ring that he may never get back.
Cotto didn't just lose, he lost the will to fight on. That's the type of loss that makes you think twice everytime you take a punch. It takes your prime away from you, you are never the same fighter after a loss like that.Comment

Explain more skills. Do you think he quit or he was beaten until he couldn't fight anymore; his prime was possibly beaten out of him?1.Raiders suck

I initially thought the corner stopped it but I then saw other camera angles where Cotto is clearly signalling to them to stop it. It was a roundabout way of quitting.Exactly... like I said.. if Cotto wanted to really quit.. he would of stayed on his knee until the ref counted to 10. He got up both times, and the corner called it off after the second one.
If he would of taken two knees to get a rest.. finished the 11th and 12th, it would of been called a smart move... but the guy had nothing, and his corner knew it.
Still... he got up and was willing to continue if the corner didn't step in.
He wanted to quit in the Pacquiao fight too. He mentally quit after 4 rounds anyway.Comment

He was tired. He didnt want the unnecessary punches. He went to a knee, like he said he was going to get a break but his corner throw in the towel. He did not argue about it. His corner quit on his behalf and he was content with the decision. He quit. But it seems here that all this mofo's are tougher than Cotto and criticize him for doing so. Internet warriors that wont last a full round in the ring. Bunch of fools. He quit and if he do it again, I dont give a f.ck, he always give his best.Comment

I guess Manny Steward was just yelling "It's over, it's over" for no reason before the 2nd knockdown and before the fight was stopped.
I take that back, he was yelling "it's over, it's over" because he has psychic powers and he knew Cotto would "quit" in the next minute. No he was yelling it's over, it's over because the dog on fight was over lol Some posters here never cease to amaze me. But I'm noticing trends here from some, so you're not really amazing me anymore.
But hey, what do you say but "WAR MANNY STEWARD THE PSYCHIC"

He knew the fight was about to be over. Either the ref would stop it or Cotto would get KTFO.I guess Manny Steward was just yelling "It's over, it's over" for no reason before the fight was stopped.

Cotto quit before either could happenComment

Only Cotto knows. But after the beating he took, I wouldn't be surprised if he said he didn't quit...
but everyone saw that he didn't fought back either, bloody pulp or not.Comment

Exactly, he knew the fight was over, just like everyone else did.
Listen to what you just said. The Ref, Steward, and Cotto all knew the fight was "over".
So how does that make a guy with blood for a mask in the 11th round a quitter? Because he didn't let Marg knock him the f out or just hold up his gloves while he leans against the ropes and let Marg wale on him? That's what makes him a quitter?
Let me ask you a serious question. Have you ever been in a fight or played any kind of major sport (i.e basketball, football, ect...)?Last edited by BoxingGenius27; 11-30-2011, 11:11 PM.Comment
