apparently, its not...according to a guy that calls himself a boxing genius, Cotto did NOT quit in the first fight

please vote and feel free to discuss
he did but the guy was taking a beating and he is not willing to die in the ring as he has been record as saying

Why are you keyboard warriors so obsessed with Cotto quitting? There's only an X amount of punishment you can take and Cotto reached the threshold.

But I bet the bad asses in this thread would've gone the distance and never quit right?

Anyone who calls Cotto quitting is a "b!tch move" or "no heart" is and will always be an idiot.Yes he quit due to the punishment he took, no point in prolonging the damage - now get over it.

Ever stop to think if he didn't take that knee, he might have ended up like Tony...with a busted orbital bone...or worse...permenant eye damage? It was painful for us Cotto fans to watch, but better to stop when you just have nothing left, and fight another day. It's not like he quit in the mid-rounds...dude was severly hammered.

Look where Tony's pride got him. A very messed up eye that very may well be his undoing. Maybe even end his career. Cotto gave all he had, it just wasn't enough.

                Taking a knee isn't quitting.

This is why I don't like some of the Cotto stans.

One day they're hating on quitters and could give a shit about fighters safety.

The next they defend there princess for QUITTING with the really intelligent logic of "You've never been in a fight before you wouldn't know!"

One day they hate on Floyd for saying he fights for the money and his health.

The next day they watch the HBO face off Cotto says the same thing and they praise Cotto and say he does the right thing.

It's hilarious to me and this is why I hope Margarito whoops that ass.

                    he was defeated..

he accepted it like a man and decided to fight another day.

there's nothing wrong with what he did. he knows the worse is still to come. just call it a day and avenge next time.

I'd say he fought as long and as hard as his body could let him.

I'd never label someone like Cotto a quitter...

At the end of the day, it's an opinionated topic, that's mine.
how I feel exactly.. not to mention, there's no shame in gassing out when you are getting hit with bricks.

margo is more of a coward for cheating then cotto is for taking a knee.
