Did Cotto Quit In The First Fight Against Tony?

in a way he quit but if there's such thing as good quitting that was it. when he took a knee it's obvious he can still stand up and throw punches but it will just worsen his already bad situation, taking more damage could've been fatal so he did the right thing...took a knee and quit.Comment

Yea he quit. Im just glad he quit because he would have got beaten some more. Let's go cotto!!!!!!!i thought it was common knowledge that NOT WANTING to fight back anymore and taking a knee was universally considered as quitting
but on this thread below
apparently, its not...according to a guy that calls himself a boxing genius, Cotto did NOT quit in the first fight

The rivalry is good for the sport, this fight however and the controversy has brought out the bad in Latinos a lot of emotion going in to this.
Disagree there to, yes Ortiz quit but what made him look b!tch like was the interview and his choice of words during that interview, that was a violent fight, and just before he quit, look at the body shots that Maidana laid on him.. it was beaten out of him to
You need to learn how to score, that fight was dead even going into the 11thComment

If this was teh case, he'd had been carried out on a stretcher. He was tried, there's no denying that, but he could have stayed on his feet if he wanted to.Me personally... I think he got beaten to the point where he just couldn't fight anymore... the guy had nothing left... he was exhausted, his face was covered in blood, battered and beat, his legs had nothing left, he could barely stand anymore.
I'd say he fought as long and as hard as his body could let him.
I'd never label someone like Cotto a quitter...
At the end of the day, it's an opinionated topic, that's mine.Comment
