the fight isn't going to happen anytime soon. neither said really wants to right now but they have to look like they do or the public will lose interest in them.

Pacquaio's fight with Marquez made about 90 million right? how much did Marquez get?? 5 million, maybe a % on the PPV over? maybe another 5

how much Pacquiao net? 60-70 million? if he fought Mayweather with a 50-50 split the PPV would have to have almost 3 millions buys which isn't going to happen.

Mayweather does the same, what did Ortiz get 2.5?

Mayweather vs Pacquiao doesn't make business sense, so it aint happenning

Unless the investors are actually a front for TR, that way he can take home all of the profit minus the 50 mill he gives to Floyd. Haymon is not dumb and I'm sure someone from GBP has told this to Floyd already so this 3rd party investor group will not happen.
arum wants outside investors because, obviously, floyd wants more than $50 million and he doesn't want to risk offering floyd more than that for fear of not getting it back. meaning, what if it didn't do well as expected? we're not even sure who's calling the shots anymore. arum is not even needed except for consultation purposes as he's the more experienced one in the business. pacquiao's manager and whoever is in team floyd's side can put this thing together without arum. this fight doesn't need a lot of promoters. but since arum is the best for the job, these investors can opt to offer him the same role, and gbp might be given a slice of it.

The last time everybody thought Arum was full of ****, then the president of HBO came out and publicly said Arum was telling the truth and that he was trying to make the Mayweather fight as the go-between guy because of the personal issue between Arum and Mayweather's manager Haymon.
The former President of HBO sports who was rumored to have been ousted mainly because Pacquiao left HBO. It's funny when Pacquiao fanatics quote Ross Greenburg's word like it's the Gospel as if he didn't have anything to gain by making it look like he was working on the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight at that time. His was trying to keep his job. The reality is that Mayweather told the world after the Mosley fight that he was taking time away from boxing. Mayweather's team adamantly denied that any serious talks were going on throughout that entire masquerade. Here's Greenburg's quote "I had been negotiating with a representative from each side since May 2, carefully trying to put the fight together. Hopefully, someday this fight will happen. Sports fans deserve it. It's unfortunate that it won't happen in 2010."

That quote hardly settles the issue. Who was he supposedly negotiating with from Mayweather's side? What was the issue(s) that caused the talks to break down? He didn't answer any of that, he just put a vague statement withour any clarification. Team Mayweather even challenged him to a lie detector test.

the only irony i see w/ the *****s here is they support mayweather's stand about being ready to sign A contract, but quick to point out that no negotiations are going on OR being started today or even the last time.

so what contract is floyd talking about?

from what I know it was Koncz who was presented offers to which he approached Bob to which they went to Team Mayweather

since Team Mayweather is in no way tied to GBP other than previous fights to be honest TR has every right to approach Mayweather

if Bob is taking on the role of taking on the boxing logistics solely for this fight then what would be Golden Boy's role?

THAT to me is why they are beefing. GBP does not want to lose that role as it means revenue when they sorely need it and TR wants it because it could be very lucrative even without being the sole investor of this fight

to me this is the most likely scenario

First its "take the test Manny" even after he agreed.

Now its "sign the contract Manny", even though they claim their isnt any neogiations going on.

These guys just parrot everything Floyd says and never think for themselves.

                    • arum is set to screw this whole thing up. we know mayweather is his own boss and pays goldy to promote his fights. pacquiao aint doing anything without bob arum or arum will sue him. i guarantee that arum is already laying the screw up ground work if he's not directly involve.
