      hell yea....

i think what cotto means is that in a VERY lopsided fight like Pac vs Marg where he was getting beat to a pulp, it would've been better for his corner to call the fight. that way yuo can fight another day and not have issues (eye)...

what Margarito's mindset was, that he wanted to stay in looking for a KO (a miracle)... he mentioned Chavez vs taylor talking about chavez was loosing the fight and then won by KO.. I understand what he meant, but in no way was this rrelated.

Chavez is an atg that had a lot of skill and a late ko was a lot more plausible for him, and chavez wasn't as injured in that fight, as margo was in his....

all in all, i understand them both....

I can understand some of the criticism that is put against cotto because of his moments of Retreating and going defensive in the ring or when he took the knee against Margarito, but alot of it is exaggerated especially by the Pro Margarito Camp.

He took alot of punishment by pacman and still boxed until the end when the ref stopped the fight. margarito was using concrete bricks for hands against him, so i think that explains why cotto fought the way he did towards the end of that bout.

Well he has done pretty damn well so far in his career, and acheived more than Margarito has, so I don't know about that. Could he have been an even better fighter if he had a mentality like Margarito...yeah maybe. But I don't think Cotto will lose a wink of sleep over it, he is a 3 weight world champion, a possible HOF, and extremely wealthy. I think he will be very content at the end of his career

I think you exaggerated what Garcia is saying, although that was his point. Ultimately its up to the trainers to know when to say when for the fighter, Too bad Garcia didnt do his job, he could have saved Margarito a lot of pain and all the future problems he will have one day.

Regarding high altitude training Im on the fence on it but am leaning towards it not being such a good thing for boxers and especially not good in this particular case for Margarito. The guy has never had a stamina issue so why take a risk and go to hi altitude for this camp? I enjoyed Conte's take on it in a video posted here. He stated for sports that require explosive movements like boxing it is counterproductive to train at altitudes and more importantly to base your camp there. His theory was that it puts your muscles into a catabolic state, where you are burning so many calories that you lose muscle, strength and speed. In fact he called it the dumbest type of mistake you could make. Now if you are a distance runner seems like that may be the way to go or at least incorporating some of that into your training would be wise.

This isn't something new for marg though. He's trained at high altitudes before.

I don't know man, Mexican boxer mostly train in high altitudes because of the elevation in Mexico City and other places in Mexico.

Big Bear California has been training camp to some of the best American boxers, including Mosley and DLH. I have never heard anything but positive things from them and I don't see it being a negative issue for this or any other fight.

I have myself trained in high altitudes and can tell you that you are in better shape when training at those elevation levels and I don't seem to get the same here in Florida that is basically at sea level.

Just me but I don't think it will be a negative IMO.
