WTF are you talking about? The stadium wasn't sold out because the tickets were expensive as hell, and rich Mexicans don't happen to like boxing very much.

Plus, Mexico City isn't really as Canelo crazy as some of the other states in Mex.
The Marquez result also turned off a lot of Mexicans from boxing, at least for a little while...

WTF what are you talking about Willis??

I'm from Mexico City and they were not expensive at all, maybe some at ringside but that's it, they were giving 2 by the price of 1, they never do that, Even the Kahwagi tickets fights at la Plaza years ago were more expensive than this tickets and la plaza was almost sold out that day.

And they prices have been similar to fights at la Arena México, so it was not because of that.

The thing and you know it is that Mexicans don't like bullys or ****y fighters (that's what they think now about Canelo because of Archie), and they also don't like how Televisa is shoving him on us like a God.

There is also the general sentiment that his opponents are trash, and with the perfomance of Cintron yesterday.. well there's not one to argue about that one.

Mexicans want their heroes to be like Chicharito the soccer player, humble and likable.
Lots of people knew about the Solis incident and how Canelo went unpunished.

Check the comments on this articles after the fight to remind you what Mexicans think about him.

Canelo should take next Lara, Paul Williams, Molina, Martirosyan, Greene, Rosado, Trout if he doesn't fight one of those fighters, fight Cotto-Margarito winner, Floyd, Martinez or Chavez Jr. BUT PLEASE NOBODY ELSE prove something against someone, Cintron is a shot fighter, mentally weak. I think that he will take soft chinned Martirosyan, Rosado or soft puncher Molina, the best threat for GBP.

$243.00 en General; $937.00 en Lumbrera; $1'171.00 Palcos, lumbreras; $1'746.00 en Segundo tendido; $2'086.00 en Balcones; $2'326.00 en Primer tendido y $3'435.00 en Barrera.
That's expensive as hell, let's be honest, when he did that 2X1, it was too late. ****, I was planning to go, but after those prices...........

I do agree that some people are finally opening their eyes and seeing how overrated Canelo and Jr are and how protected they have been. I think Marquez had a lot to do with it.
This either means A) They step up their competition B) They go back to fight in Usa against bums and don't fight here again.
Archi incident had nothing to do with it, nobody remembers that anymore (which tells you what this motha***a can get away with in Mexico).

chavez jr is overrated and canelo is just not ready skill wise. you can't go off his fight last night. cintron is done. he was one of my favorite fighters when he first came out but it looks like those beatings by margarito have taken a serious toll on him.

Its funny in a sense that Alvarez beats up little guys in and out of the ring with the exception of Gomez(gomez is small but was beating Alvarez)( who was beating him by points decision until Golden Girl had their ref stop the fight even when Gomez was still on his feet.

Canelo would flat out destroy Jr. but that fight will NEVER happen because Jr's people would never allow it.....

This reporter is reporting false information. Oscar just tweeted there was 25000 people there. When I watched the HBO telecast, it clearly looked like it was well over 20000 people. No way there was only 7000

That is correct. That bum saying " I watched the telecast in HBO" you ****ing dummy I was in the arena and live there were probably 8,000 people at the most. The reporter is right, they even had to bring the crowd in the top all the way down because there were thousands of emmpty seats. I even were given an extra tickets. It was a lame crowd. You can't just make a comment if you weren't there. S lot more than half the arena was empty.
