I'm hoping the new boxing show on NBC Sports Network lives up to the hype and actually puts in good competitive fights instead of showcases.

No its not killing the die-hards, but we ARE taken for granted by promoters and TV companies. Because they know we'll buy the fight. Here in the UK, Primtime will know ill stay up til 6am watching fights in the US.

Its all catered towards the casual fan

THAT is what brings in the PPV money

I think the PPV sales illustrate the quality of the product that is a championship prize fight. We don't get the fights we want but we always tune in, and in most cases, pay a good amount of money to do so.

The people running the sport take advantage of this but they may just be killing the sport. IMO, the promoters are too good at their jobs for our sake, but most of us love the sport too much to just drop it.

I can't say I haven't thought about easing up on how much I follow boxing, but it's too damn entertaining. Nothing in sports compares to a good championship fight and the hype that surrounds it.

Any real boxing fan knows that boxing is at an alltime high right now, and its without heavyweight power. We have more talent in every divison than we have had in the last 30 years. Each and every weight class is stacked full of young up and comers, even heavyweight have some new meat. If your to blind to see, please move on to UFC. I hate lil young *****ass dudes who cry and complain like girls. Grow some balls and man up, boxing is about drama, disaster, death, suffering, pain growth, blood, guts, shock and awe, you name it boxing has it. Its full of street people, who eles would be part of such a vilolent sport. Thats why you have so many crooks and killers in boxing, its the way its always been. If your looking for some good old boys pretending to be hood then go over to UFC. Thier full of imposters, with thier ****ed hair and tattoo's. A bunch of wannabe killers. lol

I have read many posts of old school posters/posters who know their history, saying that boxing from now isn't that much different than the one's from the past. One poster even showed an article of the 1960s about boxing was dying. My dad being 60 years old and a big boxing fan, has pics of him in Duran fights, has a pic with Don King, and has pics with Joan Guzman back when Guzman was younger....he himself told me he doesn't see what people are talking about, boxing is the same sport it always was. He said boxers always fought for money and even boxers from way back were divas with making fights.

                  LOL THIS x10.

Around 12 months ago...i couldnt name you a smaller fighter (Minimum to Super Bantamweight)....now, i prefer watching these guys fight. It sucks that these guys dont get showcased more and such because most of the best fights have been in the lower weights.

I think Ortiz-Berto is one of the most overrated fights of the year. Tyson Marquez-Luis Concepcion I & II are the best fights ive seen all year. HBO worthy fights...IMO.

I think it has to do with the fact that theres not a huge disconnect between divas in the sport. I can understand guys like Floyd and Manny having demands since both dudes have payed their dues to the sport but every ******* with a padded record now thinks they can make their own demands in boxing. Personally I believe floyd has to fight manny, and amir khan, andre berto, victor ortiz, devon alexander , timothy bradley, and marcos Maidana (if he moves up) need to be put into a blender and see who emerges at the top. What I wouldnt give for showtime to contract all these *******s into a tournament like the super six and produce a real champion. Also mutha****as like Canelo and Chavez shouldn't have belts.
