Just a good fighter, good skills, but nothing flashy. He's a champ, nothing great. Never were a p4p top 10 worthy fighter.

Can we at least all agree, Miguel Cotto was never really that good anyway?

Cotto was a great fighter.
He was a good boxer, his timing was perfect, he had surprising hand-speed and his agressive approach allowed him to break fighters down. The Mosley fight showed a great fighter and the first half of the Margo fight was flawless. He's now a little less agressive and slower, still a good fighter though.

Easily a HOF entry. Overrated depends on your expectations. He has faced everyone except for Floyd n now Martinez because of Top Rank and has only 2 losses both to alleged cheaters. Cotto is a top 10 legendary fighter in the past 15 years. Look at his fights n his record.

Cotto had a great career. He fought just about everyone there was to fight.

IMO...again IMO....on the night he fought Shane, I dont think there was ANYBODY in the division that would've beaten him that night including Floyd...yea I said itand I'll say it again....I really think he would've beaten ANYBODY in the division that night!!!

I agree with a potential Mayweather fight. Can Floyd withstand a body assualt for long before his guard starts withering? I think that's the only way to wear down Floyd and open him up and Cotto's got the best body shot in the sport. Cotto also does well against boxers as opposed to guys that can smother him and slug it out. I'm just as excited as the next guy to see what new tweaks he brings into the Margarito rematch.

Miguel leaves himself open to straight's when he leans in with his punches, he'd walk onto that right hand all night. The little errors Miguel makes don't get punished in most fights, but against boxing's best fighter and counter-puncher, I worry he'd get outboxed most of the night. Miguel has also moved away from body shots.

I would love to see this fight made. of course mayweather would have his moments, outboxing cotto, but at the end of the night, i think it will come down to who is the bigger warrior. May has been slowing down with his body movements, but he's been letting his hands go more to. It could be anybodys fight imo.Last edited by ~AK49~; 11-27-2011, 02:26 PM.
