Kostya was the undisputed champ. Kostya had respect from his peers. Kostya wasnt known for hand selecting opponents like Vitali has. Thats why much respect ws given to Kostya. Kostya also wasn't ducking anyone like Vitali.

Vitalis backing out has screwed Rahman in the worst way. Vitali isnt in debt. Rahmans in debt and he's been waiting a year for a fight that hasn't materialized. The average fan could feel for Rahman and what he's going through.

Fans of boxing, like myself, don't buy those "injuries" Vitali has suffered from "joggin" of all activities.

I can't believe so many writers and fans are callign VK a coward and "unchampion-like" for pulling out of the fight. I'm disappointed but WTF can you do? . Tszyu was out of the ring for two years, and he had all three belts, Mitchell had to fight about 5 guys before their rematch even took place. Nobody was calling Tszyu's injuries bull**** or looking for him to get stripped. When the WBA stripped him, people were actually pissed and complaining.

Tszyu was an established great fighter, a future Hall of Famer, and pound for pound elite.

Vitali was inactive in fighting Sanders and Williams (soft opposition) before all this non sense started.

Phillips was a decent fighter for a quite some time after beating Tszyu. More decent than Tszyu throwing a beating to an aging Chavez, who was coming off a loss to journeyman Willy Wise and was inactive. I remember people calling that fight suicide in most papers and Tszyu was trying to justify taking it, or should I say taking the DKP payday.

People on here say, anti-Klitschko boxing fans are xenophobic. Not at all. There is a fine difference between Kostya and Vitali. Kostyas resume is impressive and people found his injury to be legitimate.

Vitali has fought Danny Williams and Corrie Sanders... Now it's his turn to fight an ex-champ whose committed full time to boxing (unlike Sanders) in Rahman and he gets hurt FOUR times? That stoppage was pretty brutal, and by the time he had a few tune ups, Phillips had been knocked out by Teron Milette.

But regardless, that has little to do with Vitali, who only held 1/4th of the title that he won off a 38 year old Corrie Sanders and defended once agaisnt Danny Williams before this one year excuse train took off.

People could live with Tszyu's inactivity because he was a unifed and proven great champion. The same can't be said about Vitali in the least.

There are so many people fed up with this, and they have a right to be.
