Of course, but at the same time, he let his hands go when needed. JMM fought the perfect fight against Pac. I just dont see Floyd willing to make the attempt to try and land the punches/combos on Pac that JMM did unless he's able to rock Pac and have him on linguini legs. Floyd has turned into a 1 and done fighter. Straight right hand leads and potshots here and there.

Im a big Floyd fan but I dont underestimate Pac. It wouldnt be a total shock to me if it was close and it wouldnt even be huge if he won but to me that has more to do with Floyd. If Floyd was active & had more rounds in then I wouldnt give Pac nothing but a punchers chance, even now when I think Floyd is starting to look a lil past it.

Put it this way, if its Floyd's next fight then Ill be extremely worried. If he has one more fight before then, I think Pac's only chance will be to catch him early with a punch that stops him or hurts him the whole fight ala Forrest vs Mosley or he has to hope Floyd has aged alot.

Pac's people dont want him to fight Floyd now but they should be jumping at the fight. Floyd will get older but he's also going to knock off more rust and his timing will be pure if he gets 1 more fight in. Pac's best chance to win by far is now

Pacquiao gets dominated or stopped IMO.

Head to head I believe Mayweather's style is much worse for Pacquiao than would be vice versa.

JMM sacrificed defense in order to get his offense off. Floyd will NEVER make that sacrifice! Yes Floyd is the best counter puncher in the game, but he will need to actually fight! He's not going to get away with throwing 1 right hand lead at a time. Pac will win rounds on workrate alone. Throwing 15-20punches a round is not gonna cut it. When JMM countered Pac, he countered him with 2-3-4 punch combos. When is the last time we've seen Floyd do that.

Now this is not to say that Floyd wont have success against Pac. All I'm saying is, dont use Pac's performance against JMM as a measuring stick against Floyd. Floyd and JMM although both very technical, are also very different!
Against De La Hoya he averaged 40 punches a round.
Against Hatton he averaged 33 punches a round.
Against Marquez he averaged 41 punches a round.
Against Mosley he averaged 40 punches a round.
Against Ortiz he averaged 42 punches a round.

Against Marquez Pacquiao averaged 48 punches.

As you said, Mayweather is less engaging that Pacquiao so in all likelihood his workrate will be reduced more as he spends most of the fight trapped on the outside.

An average of 40 punches is more than enough to win a fight providing he is more accurate than the opposition.

Floyd doesn't have to. Manny isn't that hard to hit. and Yes, Floyd would slightly throw more punches than he usually do. At the end of the day, he can potshots Manny for every rounds, and he'd still end up landing just as many punches as JMM landed on Manny while taking lesser punishment in return.

Without a question Floyd is one of the most accurate punchers in boxing. I just dont see him being ****** enough to go on the offense on Pac. He will sit in the cut and wait to exploit mistakes made by Pac. Now if Pac is punching and Floyd is just countering with 1 and done punches, even if he's more accurate than Pac, he will need to up his punch output in order to win rounds.

Floyd will still throw 35-40 punches per round. Once he figures Pac's rhythym out, he'll have plenty of chances to land shots w/ Pacqiauo going in & out. The problem for Pac is he would have to be much more accurate when he flurries. I think Floyd spanks him with a few close rounds here & there. Pac will eat a healthy serving of straight right hands if they do fight.
