Mayweather vs Pacquiao might be closer than you think

What people have to realize is, Floyd is nowhere as offensive as JMM. JMM took many chances in order to land the shots he landed on Pac. Is Floyd willing to take that chance? JMM sacrificed defense in order to get his offense off. Floyd will NEVER make that sacrifice! Yes Floyd is the best counter puncher in the game, but he will need to actually fight! He's not going to get away with throwing 1 right hand lead at a time. Pac will win rounds on workrate alone. Throwing 15-20punches a round is not gonna cut it. When JMM countered Pac, he countered him with 2-3-4 punch combos. When is the last time we've seen Floyd do that.

Now this is not to say that Floyd wont have success against Pac. All I'm saying is, dont use Pac's performance against JMM as a measuring stick against Floyd. Floyd and JMM although both very technical, are also very different!

Exactly Marquez throws combinations and is willing to stand in the pocket and take a punch to give one. Floyd does neither! The Marquez fight in no way reflects whY would happen if Floyd fought Pacquiao, they aren't the same type of counter puncher! Marquez is willing to take chances Floyd isn't and that has much to do with his success.

floyd has a great jab......he was landing it nicely against ortiz & marquez. that marquez fight was a jab fest.

also. floyd has MUCH more power then marquez........ i wouldn't be surprised if pac goes down from a quick laser counter. it's not the big lumbering blows that hurt pac it's the quick accurate lasers that hurt pac.

Its very likely JMM will have more success against Pac, than Floyd ever will.

Baldomir is an "In your face" type of pressure Boxer, he's always there to be hit. Manny Pacquiao uses constant in and out ambush attacks, and will only go for the kill if he hurt you enough to knock you out. Manny leaves himself open whenever he jumps in and misses with his ambush attacks[off balance and out of defensive position]. If you have good timing and throw sharp punches, then you can time his rhythm and feeds off of his mistakes[Counter-puncher].
