the way i interpret it(because im not a hater of the sport and jump to conclusions that hurt the sport) is that he means he went into the fight with the wrong mindset, was not mentally prepared, and when he said before that he had to lose that night, i always took it as him accepting it as fate more then hinting at a fixed fight
