The thing that always sticks in my mind about the clottey fight is when Clotteys corner told him that he needs to throw punches , he shook his head and said no. He looked like he didnt even wanna be in the ring that night.
Clottey admits to "throwing/ laying down" the Pac FIXED FIGHT (on this YouTube video)

He says in the Corrales fight he threw a lot of punches, in the Margarito fight he threw a lot of punches, in the Cotto fight he won it[interviewer agrees], then he says in the Pacquiao fight he didn't throw a lot of punches because he "lost the fight before he got in the ring".
I don't know how can you get that the fight was fixed by this. It is interesting, but I don't think he meant the fight was fixed. Although in another interview in his home country he says "I had to lose that night".Comment

Because he knew he was in way over his head. Pac hit him with a right hook in the first that instilled the idea that opening up was a horrible idea.
But the fight being fixed for the overwhelming favorite to win makes more sense.
On a side note, glad Clottey's back from the Bermuda Triangle. He gives anyone at 154 a run for their money.Comment

Doesn't make sense, him losing on purpose. Would have to be one HUGE payoff for him to do that, how could you give up being recognized at P4P no.1 for anything less than $20 mill, he'd make so much more money by beating Pac than throwing the fight.Comment

Clottey has said a lot of weird hints that sound like the fight was fixed, but he is not very clear. If the fight was fixed, he'll never say it while he's in Top Rank. We need to wait till he retires or goes to another company. I don't think the fight was fixed, although that was not the Clottey I was use to seeing, and I don't know how it had so much to do with Manny.Comment

I know but try something at least. He just went "screw this Im taking the L". At least magarito tried to win.Because he knew he was in way over his head. Pac hit him with a right hook in the first that instilled the idea that opening up was a horrible idea.

Ah, so with Clottey, Mosley, and Margarito Arum went to them and said 'hey, here's a coupon for Quiznos on top of the $3-5 million guarantee and PPV upside you're getting... I need you to take a hellacious possibly career ending beating or cover up and not fight'.
Then he tried the same with Marquez, but being the proud Mexican warrior he is, he declined. So Arum was forced to pay off the judges instead and gave them their scorecards before the fight even started.
The plot thickens.
