i think im underrating Jr and might be overrating Sergio. it could be a good fight. looks like Jr can take a punch and he has enough pop to catch Sergio if he uses his height and reach like Pavlik did. they both have the habit of dropping their guards.

Well, we all saw what happened when Martinez faced Pavlik ... Pavlik was a lot bigger and stronger, but he wasn't able to catch Martinez with clean shots. Hell, at some moments he wasn't even able to hit Martinez!

On second thought, I don't think Chavez Jr. is anywhere near ready to face Sergio Martinez.

He probably needs another 50 tomato cans to prepare himself.

Lol ... I actually think that Pavlik fell into alcohol after his fight with Martinez, when he realized that he wasn't as good as he thought he was and got really depressed.

Chavez Jr best fight was this one with Manfredo and the last one with Zbik, he hasn't fought a boxer that's nearly as good as Martinez.

Here's a quick list of some MW boxers that IMO are better than Zbik and Manfredo and that Chavez Jr could fight:

• Sergio Martinez
• Felix Sturm
• Daniel Geale
• Matthew Macklin
• Dimitri Pirog
• Gennady Golovkin

Those are the best MW IMO, but there are some other good boxers that Jr could fight against such as:

• Andy Lee
• Marco Antonio Rubio
• Grzegorz Proksa
• Peter Quillin
• Sebastian Sylvester

Good Post. I don't think Chavez JR would face GG or Pirog. Those two seem like they are flying under the radar in terms of popularity but they do have solid skills. Geale and Sturm are not leaving their countries and Macklin and Martinez might fight each other. If Arum doesn't let Chavez JR fight Martinez he should let him fight someone like McEwan, Lee, or Rubio. I think they might do the Canelo fight because it makes the most sense moneywise. I just wonder if the Middleweight title would be on the line and if Canelo wins, would he stay at Middleweight? I think he would vacate it and go back down.
