Yea he fought smart if it was a 6 round fight.

But fighting off the ropes from the 2nd fight on against a volume puncher is ******. Now I know Margarito gets credit for that as well for the pressure but Cotto obviously did not prepare properly from a tactical standpoint.

Prime vs. Prime Marg made Cotto quit. That's a fact and Marg deserves major props for it.

It is and he would. Except that in the very next fight, Marg was caught with loaded gloves. Call names all you like, that fact casts a shadow of doubt on Margarito's entire career up to that point. Including his victory over MC. No reasonable adult can fail to see the logic in this.

I'm not saying that it wouldn't have been the same had Marg never cheated or that it's 100% certain that he cheated in other bouts. I'm not here to get into those arguments. The fact is we'll never know.

Seems to be the consensus here, Miguel Cotto only wins this fight because Margarito is completely past it, shot, and has a ****ed up eye.

In other words, prime for prime Margarito is and will always be Cotto's daddy. And still who knows, Margarito might turn up the heat again in there and Cotto (Mr. I'll quit if I need too) might decide to start Tebowing in the ring again.

I agree. Margarito is still dangerous and to dismiss his power and say "Oh, he's nothing without his wraps" is completely ******. We saw what he did to Pac. Pac beat him in every round but he took his fair amount of punishment as well. It's kind of hard to visualize if people haven't seen that fight, though. Pac won by shutout AND punished Margarito in disgusting manner, but Margarito made his point that he wasn't coming to just lie down for anybody.

yup he took pac's best shots and mosley had to put his entire body into every shot before he could finally stop margarito and even then margarito wasn't really knocked out cold.
