I think the headlines about revealing demands were misleading. there is nothing extraordinary in the "demands. The only thing different from any normal contract is that he wants the fight in Mexico.

These guys fight for money. This is Marquez' job, and as long as he can turn in a respectable performance receive no damage and earn enough money to make it worth it, he will continue his career.

The location will be left up to the promoters who decide on whoever offers the biggest site fee, along with the expected live gate, as well as the expected PPV revenue from all the drinks, memorabilia, theatre showings etc.etc. Also maybe a "sort of bribe" from the location management for future shows.

Marquez has the reputation of making unwise money decisions ever since he demanded $1.5 mill for the original return, instead of a then HUGE $750,000. Beristain was behind it, and was soundly condemned by all the media. Marquez insread went to Indonesia and was badly beaten by Chris John for $32,500.

So i think his threat to retire are a few more of these childish games that boxers always play. The ONLY ONE that I know of who kept his word to retire was Marvin Hagler, who stated publicly tat he was robbed against Ray Leonard and if he didn't get a return, he would retire. Leonard knowingly leered, winked his eye and said "na'ah... I'm not that foolish"..... So Hagler retired and never came back.

Spoken like the champ that he is.

Of course, if he fights Pac a 4th time I'll buy it. If not, thanks for your body of work champ. You will be missed. Just promise to help train the next generation of exquisite Mexico City boxers.

        WAR MARQUEZ!!!

A fight in Mexico City would be great, but Pac won't JMM fight there, will he? He just may have to concede to JMM's demands to avoid fighting Floyd.

Talk about the tables being turned. Last year Floyd was running from Manny, now Manny is running from Floyd. What can Manny do to avoid a loss in his next fight? Fight Floyd? No. Fight JMM? No. I know, fight the winner of Kahn/ Peterson. Now, that's a fight everybody wants to see.

Manny, fight Floyd, or you a punk.

^^^. Marquez is being a little too hasty here, he should definitely fight Morales for the strap in an almost guaranteed FOTY candidate. I think Marquez is just so pissed that he hasn't been given the win he so truly deserves, and now he just talkin crazy. If he wins, he can go on to try and unify titles. There's still money to be made and other ways to add to your legacy. Marquez/Morales>Pac/Marquez 4.

With that one breathless statement you destroy any little credibility you might have had.

                      Good job.
