Comments Thread For: Roach: Marquez Had The Win, Let Final Rounds Slip Away

No matter what trainer, oscar had no chance against pac at that point. Why does nacho need to go? as far as i see it, marquez won the first fight, but because of the knockdowns i agree with the scorecard draw, the second was as good as a draw, or a 1 point manny win. This third fight was a marquez victory. Many of the rounds were close, where the round was decided by one or two punches. marquez had some damn good punches that won him the rounds, manny wasnt really effective at all. Yes, marquez was moving back most of the fight, but even then he was outboxing manny. Even roach says this. Everybody says this. There is no way in hell it was a 116 or 115 victory for manny.Did you look at the round by round totals? Manny outlanded JMM in Total punches 9 out of 12 rounds with two rounds tied!!! In power punches he outlanded JMM in 8 out of 12!!! So how well did JMM counter punch? Take 3 to give 2? That doesn't win rounds, how can it win the fight?
Maybe my 116-112 should be 115-113 but if as Harold Lederman says the EMPHASIS is on clean effective punching, then 116-112 is spot on.
But fine, let's say it's 115-113. Based on what measure, any specific measure by which a fight is scored, how could anyone make the "robbery" argument?? Manny eked it out? Ok. A draw? I don't think so, but maybe. But a robbery? No facts back that up. None.
So, sure, my 116-112 was aggressive by a round.
And Nacho needs to go. O for 3 against Manny, O for 4 when you consider he trained Oscar. Angulo lost, and then he tells Manny to take it easy because he is winning? Come on.
manny was getting hit hard with right hands, uppercuts, and left hooks to the body all night long.Last edited by ~AK49~; 11-14-2011, 01:29 PM.Comment

Anyone said Pacquiao lost the fight is a moron. Did you all see how Marquez cheated by stepping on Pacquaio's foot to make it a close fight see video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WwAeQzMTXUY&sns=emComment

Fair point on Nacho and Oscar. You realize there was a scoring error the first fight right? Two judges correctly scored it 10-6, one scored it wrong and scored it 10-7. If he scores it right it's a Manny win. I scored the second like you 114-113 which is a draw except for knockdown.
As for the third fight, wow, I thought I statistically demonstrated that on a round by round basis it was 8-4 or 7-5.
Agree to disagree I guess.

This is common when a southpaw faces an orthodox fighter. There is also a battle of feet positioning going on, to give the best possible angle, and take away your opponents angle. This is not cheating, it just happens.Anyone said Pacquiao lost the fight is a moron. JMM should have kept his foot on the pedal in the championship rounds. Just like Mayweather Senior should have kept working against Zelenoff. Common sense here.Did you look at the round by round totals? Manny outlanded JMM in Total punches 9 out of 12 rounds with two rounds tied!!! In power punches he outlanded JMM in 8 out of 12!!! Erik Morales "Nos robaroooon y feo. Marquez total reconocimiento es el segundo mexicano que le pone en su madre a pacquiao, gano y gano muy bien felicidadees!" Which translates to English as "They robbed us and it was an ugly robbery too. To Marquez total recognition, he is the second Mexican to beat the **** out of Pacquiao, he won and he won nicely. Congratulations!" http://twitter.com/terrible100
Jean Pascal "On my card Marquez WON!!!!" http://twitter.com/jeanpascalchamp
I am still yet to hear one single fighter state that he thought Pacquiao won that fight, even his own stablemates Khan and Chavez both knew that he lost. ***s sake, even Nathanielz knew that Pac lost, and that is really saying something.
Every fighter who watched that bout gave Marquez the win, and most gave it to him handily. I have not heard one single fighter give Pac the nod. MOST pacfans have given Marquez the win, and some were disgusted with the result.
And yet here we have our usual contingent of flag-wavers, frantically defending Manny. Clowns

116-114. pac won by 2 points, or just one round!
OK, here it comes!
Everybody needs to stop faking the funk.
First off, I'm white and caucasian.
Second, Marquez and Pac are both my nicca's.
Third, everybody should understand Central America (mexico + Latino's) is essentially the heart of boxing, and as such, naturally, Marquez is technically the 'people's champ' ... if you get what i'm saying ...?
Originally, I thought Pac won by 1 round ... just my gutt feeling.
My official scoring, as follows, is after watching the fight 3 times. A couple individual close rounds were watched 5 times.
I have sharps eyes, and my scoring is, truthful, un-biased, and laser precise, fair and official. Period.
Round 1: 10-9 Pac
Round 2: 10-9 Marquez
Round 3: 10-10 Even, conceivably could have went to Pac. Even though.
Round 4: 10-9 Pac. SOLID Pac round
Round 5: 10-9 Marquez. SOLID Marquez round
Round 6: 10-9 Pac. Close round, but Pac edged it out.
Round 7: 10-9 Marquez. SOLID Marquez round
Round 8: 10-9 Marquez. Close round, Marquez edged it out though.
Round 9: 10-10 Even, concievably could have been Marquez's
Round 10: 10-9 Pac. Close, but Pac edged it out.
Round 11: 10-9 Pac.
Round 12: 10-9 Pac. This round was a stinker. Pac edged it out + work rate and aggression.
... rounds 3 and 9, although even by my estimate, possible got scored for pac and marquez respectively ..... essentially a 'push'
So we end up with:
1 pac
2 marquez
3 even
4 pac
5 marquez
6 pac
7 marquez
8 marquez
9 even
10 pac
11 pac
12 pac
This is 116-114 for pac. 2points difference means 1 round.
Originally, i thought pac won by 1 round
Pac won a close fight, like it was offically, there is no robbery.
On top of the win for Pac, he got brownie points for being the aggressor.
Marquez is still my nicca too though.
Another drawish fight.
Marquez gave the fight away starting in the 9th. Marquez *could* maybe have won the fight with a little more 'oumph'. But Marquez definately lost. Definately.
WHAT ARE YOUR SCORES?????
Thank for listening to my rant, in closing, remember one thing, 'and take it to heart' ..... you have to TAKE a champions belt from him, you can't ASK for it!!
Marquez 'asked' PAC for the belt, Pac said no, i'm keeping that ****!!!
I realize the heart of boxing is mexican's and latino's, but for the love of boxing guys, stop faking the funk. Marquez lost a close fight, Close fight.
Pacquiao won 'clearly' in another razor thin contest, But he definately WON.
Marquez could have gotten a draw, with a strong 12th round, but he didn't, he lost the fight by 1 round.
On the really, really, bright side, i think mayweather will finally sign the contract.
Bring on Pac and May!!Comment
