Why would he stand toe to toe and trade with one of the best punchers in the game? He learned how dangerous that could be two fights in a row before. It's boxing, not "Stand in front of a guy and go all out."

I was disappointed at Pac's performance last night. Before the fight, i did not expect him to perform as the way he did against Cotto and Margarito. But he showed to much respect at JMM's boxing skills that made him hesitate to attack. I have Pac winning 7-5 though due to being more aggressive, landing and more punches, even countering punches against JMM, and blocking a lot of shots when JMM was attacking. I don't have a problem either with a draw.Comment

Why did you even watch the fight? All you had to do was seeing the compubox numbers and keep saying that Pac out jabbed Marquez and all that stuff ... it seems that's all you care aboutComment

So explain why Marquez didn't keep his title in their rematch? What did Pac do to take Marquez's title? He didn't even win, let alone win convincingly enough to take the title from the champ.
All the excuses being bandied about as to why Pac should have won relate to the exact reasons that Marquez somehow lost the rematch. "Pac landed more", "He was walked forward" Marquez, in the rematch landed more punches, he landed more power punches, he landed the cleaner, clearer harder shots more consistently, he controlled the action and made Pac fight his fight and he was the champion, so Pac, by these standards, had to take the title away and he definitely didn't yet was still given the win. Guess what the real reason he won is? Money. Yes, money. Arum would have made Pac win this fight even if Marquez had fought like Tyson and knocked him down every round. It's too much money to lose for him.
Anyway, you are basically admitting that Pac lost the 2nd fight. Marquez landed more, he was the champion and Pac didn't do enough to take the title.
But, of course that's not what anyone will say.
The simple fact is that Marquez landed the better punches all night. Not more, but the better punches. The cleaner, harder, more flush shots. Pac might have landed more, but they certainly weren't better. All those half landed, weak shots that didn't phase Marquez were counted and yet four or five of those would only equal one of Marquez's clean, hard right hands.
Pac was more visibly shaken in that fight than Marquez was and as much as people keep pointing to the aggression of Pac, walking forward and not really doing much yourself doesn't win a fight. Landing the better punches wins a fight. Who cares which way you are moving? If you land the better punch, you beat the other guy.Last edited by BennyST; 11-14-2011, 12:48 AM.Comment
