  • Lost Respect for Pac Last Night

I used to be a Mayweather fan then lost most respect for him and became a Pac fan. Well as of last night my opinion is swinging the other way again. I lost alot of respect for Pac.

Pac knew that he lost, or at least did poorly. This was the FIRST fight in recent memory, and definitely the first of their trilogy with Marquez that when the final bell sounded, Pac walked dejectedly to his corner and did NOT raise his hand. Because he knew he had lost. Amir Khan, his best friend in the commentary felt he also lost. Even Freddy Roach in the corner was telling Pac all fight that they were "Behind" so I'm sure Freddy thought they had lost too. Marquez triumphantly raised his hand at the final sound of the bell, Pac did not and walked dejectedly to the corner. In their other fights when the bell sounded Pac and Marquez both shot their hands up in there air in celebration of victory.

Yet in the interview Pac has the dishonest nerve to state "I clearly won" and wouldn't even give Marquez credit or admit how close the fight was. What a travesty!

    You're a coward Pac!

      • TS scored the fight 120-108 Marquez (or at least 119-109, he didn't post about 1 round) in the live thread, so just ignore him.

You don't score a fight based only on the number of punches landed, more so when everybody knows compubox numbers are not accurate. Marquez landed the more significant and damaging punches throughout the fight and gave him a boxing clinic. It was a robbery.

              • 115-113 for Pac....Marquez is contented in giving away the last 2 rounds which contributed to his demise

                • he did do poorly.

                  doesn't mean he lost though.

i think people just expected so much more from pac and so little from jmm.

i think it amplified everything jmm did and minimized whatever pac did.

people act like jmm schooled pac or something.

pac tagged jmm more and frankly harder. it's just we notice everything jmm does because we expected so little from him.

TBF, a lot of seasoned observers thought this one would ultimately prove a physical mismatch, not necessarily a technical one. Just a leap too far for Marquez.

But I agree 100% on the bold. Pacquiao's a great fighter. But he isn't the Top 1-5 All-Timer some in the media were seriously cracking him up to be.

                    • Congratulations to Juan Manuel Marquez. I hope he doesn't retire after that excellent performance. He proved a lot of people wrong, me included. I won't ever doubt him again.
