It's not a publicity stunt... even though it may garner publicity, it doesn't make it a stunt.

Maybe Miami or somewhere in the state of Florida would be a good place to move the fight to.
The problem is florida is not a boxing town and yes there are Ricans there but not as many compare to New York who actually has more Ricans than the Island. Another thing is how are they going to get Margarito a license in 2 weeks, get a venue, promote it on local tv and radio with only 2 weeks? they have sold over 17k tickets already on MSG.

This to me makes no sense. This is something that should have goten resolved months ago.

Theres too much revenue already tied up for this fight for NYC. The state commission wont leave the money on the table.

How in the hell is this issue not resolved ? You'd think Arum, would have tested these waters months before location was chosen and tickets were printed ! I've been curious for months as to Margarito's reinstatement/licensing issues and now will continue to wait for a concrete answer. If for some underpaid reason this fight does not take place in NYC the venue should be moved to San Juan. I'm, sure Margarito can obtain license there and then be fed to the lions !

I'm thinking to put more and more pressure on the commission. No one WANTS to cancel this fight at this stage of the promotion. This is probably Arum trying to strong-arm them.

Arum has been yapping so much non-sense about Mayweather & Pacquiao vs Marquez III that he must have forgotten about the license. Fight better not get canceled or moved. I got everything paid and ready and sure thousands of fans have too. Best alternative could be Atlantic City.

I agree. I just don't see how Arum would get contracts, millions of dollars, 24/7 HBO Cameramen, promotion, ticket selling, and venue...WITHOUT making sure Margarito had been green-lit in New York.

Like Fantastic said, and I hate to say this, the fight will most likely be approved simply because of the money it brings to New York. Margarito's condition will be secondary in the priorities when it comes to the 11/8 hearing.

What the hell is wrong with you?

Glad on one hand that the fight's going to be finalized, but on the other, we'll see that a fighter's safety is secondary when it comes to these sorts of things. It's all about the $$$, unfortunately.
