How could you not have the ultimate appreciation for what he does inside the ring?

signing a contract with terms in it that you know are not agreeable to the other side isn't agreeing to fight. it is a silly game and part of what masquerades as "negotiations" for the mayweather camp. most people who negotiate deals for a living would call it "bush league." Why? because it is bush league.

I think the the poster is referring to the first round of negotiations when terms to the fight were thought to have been agreed on until Team Pacquiao alkd away and fought Clottey.

"He (Floyd, Jr.) thanks everyone but his daddy. He thanks Leonard Ellerbe, a ****sexual, I know he's a ****sexual and everyone else knows it. You can print that because I said it, I can tell you nothing else but how gay he is." - Floyd Mayweather, Sr.

This is just ******. I come from a family that has produced more than one professional and some very good amateur boxers. Ali was revered in my family (and still is). However, you won't find a single Floyd fan amongst them. Everybody respects Floyd's boxing skill. He has a lot of talent. But there is more to being a "fan" of a boxer than recognizing they are skilled.
Here is why nobody can stand Mayweather: He has studiously avoided fighting the best at 147. He fought almost everybody at the lower weights, then fought handpick opponents that he knew he could beat once he got to 147. That is cheating the fan who want to see the best vs. the best. Floyd doesn't care to see the best competition (how else can you explain his decision to fight guys like Hatton (who had just won a BS decision against Luis Collazo and swore he'd never fight at 147 again), Carlos Baldomir (a club fighter at best--but he did have a belt (the Mayweather apologist says)), and Sharmba Mitchell (who was coming off a knockout loss to Kosta Tszyu at a lower weight class). His bush league actions (sucker punching Gatti and then Ortiz) haven't helped. Name another "all-time great" that has ever resorted to such bull**** especially in fights against overmatched opponents. You won't be able to because great fighters don't do that bs. Granted, Ortiz was dirty too, but what about Gatti? And, doesn't anybody believe Mayweather needed to sucker punch Ortiz to win? Hell no. If he didn't, why sucker punch him? I personally felt it was the equivalent of stealing money from my pocket (the money I spent on that farce of a PPV).

They agree to catchweights because they want a payday. The only person who benifits from catchweights is Manny. Going into the fights Manny is 100% while his opponents are not due to trying to make weight. Win/Win for miss pacman.

Yes he has structured is carrer to maximize his money rather than give fans what they want. But only a real loser faults him for that IMO.
So, you admit that he doesn't give fans what they want and then say only losers would not be a fan of his? That is idiotic. Real boxing fans are pissed because he won't make the best fights out their and he does unsportsmanlike things in the ring. Those are legitimate gripes and great reasons to not be a fan of his. Even before that, I wasn't a fan of his because his are boring. He's a safety first guy (in the ring and in matchmaking). He makes shell fighters like Joshua Clottey look exciting. I appreciate the technical aspects of what he's doing, but that is about it. Because of the way he handpicks opponents anymore, watching a Mayweather fight is like watching a Harlem Globetrotter game. You think the Washington Generals will pull this one out? That's not sport. Its called an exhibition.
