Actually he was very hush about it when he organised to pay for Gernaro's funeral......he didn't actually post it on twitter or say anything until the media found out about it........it's in bad taste to post something like this on twitter.....he had it right the first time....just quietly pay for it and keep your mouth shut!!!

Nothing wrong with the gesture but if he really felt the need to tell the world he'd done it then he could have at least waited until after the funeral. I find the timing(within hours of the death being announced) pretty crass tbh.

Nothing wrong with this at all. Its a great thing that other boxers are looking out for each other in times like this. I'm sure frazier's family appreciates the gesture, just like sports fans should.

well jab, to be fair, the funeral for joe frazier, if they want to do it right, is going to cost at least tens of thousands of dollars. it could hit six figures.

i think its a nice gesture. thats a bunch of money no longer coming out of their pockets. and even for a multi millionaire like floyd i think shelling out that much money isnt done idly. i dont know much about their financial situation in the frazier family but if money is an issue that's a huge burden lifted.

if somebody were to take these opportunies to get his name out there and show off his money then it would be de****able

Maybe you just WANT to dislike Floyd, I mean come on the guy is paying for a potentially very expensive funeral. WTF!?!

Its not about disliking or hating on Floyd. Its the way he went about it. Was it a good gesture? It sure was. He's relieving the Frazier family of a heavy financial burden. Like many are saying though, a classy way to go about it would have been to contact the family, arrange to cover the costs, and if they want to publically thank you, then so be it. It would have looked a lot more genuine. Dont do it then toot your own horn via twitter for the world to see though. It comes off as a PR move.

I agree he could be more subtle but think of what you are saying "I hate this guy because he is paying for a legend's funeral......but letting people know." WTF? There are ALOT better reasons to hate someone.

Since when has Floyd been politically correct? It's sucks, he could have went about it in a better way, understandable, but that's how he is. Should one have expected better?

Still, this whole thing ain't that serious IMO.

Why does everyone have to do things the sameway? People are people we are not sheep or puppets. Just because the majority of you would do this in the background doesn't make what you do better than what another does because they announced it. This world needs more leaders just because you wouldn't announce an act like this doesn't make you right and whoever would announce an act like this wrong.

Too many of yall need to pull your skirts down!!!!
