Cortez would have stopped the Kirkland-Angulo fight in the 1st round

Joe Cortez sucks. you are right the guy likes the spotlight waaay to much. The ref should be invisible until necessary. Protecting the fighters is one thing, but he makes it a point to make the stoppage controversially early, so he has a chance to weight in, and make it about him. Guys a total D-head.

Actually in the States they would have stopped it in the first Round when Angulo was swinging away It would have been Angulo Ko's Kirkland in first

doubt it.......kirkland was covering up & throwing counters at angulo. thats what kept the ref from jumping in. angulo didn't cover up or throw anything when he was hurt.

I think Cortez's stoppage when Ishida fought Kirkland was a good one.

Kirkland wasn't badly hurt even though he hit the canvas three times but Cortez can't allow him to constantly hit the canvas without eventually having to step in.
