      long one.

then no punchers in the comeback until he's ready
      if he's ever ready.

      he is young
and guys have come back. what a fight that was.

what a round the first was

Well he looked spent after 2. Its what happens when they try to rush these fights because of the money when they really need more fights or maybe a move up in weight.

Only a few fighters seem to have long lay offs and still be effective; Mayweather and Margarito, can't think of others.

Kikland reminds me of Jeff Lacy and Julian Letterlough bombs away, he's actually improved since last i seen him on espn.

I think Canelo is under GBP so i do expect Canelo vs. Kirkland, I wouldn't be surprised if Canelo shuts down Kirkland, Canelo showed a lot of poise against Gomez.

He'll be fine. Back to the drawing board for him and feast on a couple of durable cans and work his way up the ladder again.

He'll still be the same slow punching slow reacting plodding stand squared up in front of you punching bag he was prior but with the knowledge that he can't bulldog his way against everybody so he will be changed for the better or worse prob worse considering he doesn't have much versatility or options in what kind of gameplan he'll use but then again it's not like there are alot of fighters with kirklands resolve that he'll be going against he's just not a top tier fighter matched well he should provide action fights against opponents of his caliber.

I think this is a good assessment.

I don't think he will be the same steam rolling locomotive. I don't think his style will change but his ability to apply his style effectively may not be as good as it used to be. Sometimes one fight can take a lot out of fighters, case in point Cotto vs Margarito, Taylor vs Chavez, Williams vs Martinez, etc. Time will tell though...
