Fighters never seem to be the same after taking vicious beatings. Angulo is a warrior but taking all those punches takes a toll on you, no matter how tough you are. That was the worst beat down that I've seen in awhile. That's why defense is important.

thats why I thank the ref for stopping the fight. Angulo needs a long break and regroup.

Maybe he should move up, he looked pretty weak before the fight even started.

Nah, I don't think it was THAT vicious. The punches landed after the first round weren't incredibly powerful. Running out of gas after punching himself out was what ultimately killed Angulo.

Dude took a vicious physical and mental beating tonight. But who knows, Cotto bounced back after the Margarito fight. Margarito really didn't bounce back after the Cotto fight. I think Margarito has taken a **** load of punishment in his career. It's funny a fight Margarito won was the last time we saw him actually look good.

Definitly running out of gas didn't help Angulo at all. And the 18 month lay off wasn't any better. He definitly doesn't need another long lay off, what he needs is to remove some ring rust. Angulo remined me of Berto when he ran out of gas and fighting on instincts against Ortiz.
