If he says he can go down to 150 how come he cant go up and meet one of the super middleweights at a catchweight? Im sure with good promotion and hype a fight with either Bute or the Super Six winner can get him a nice payday

He said he wanted his titles back and want to fight the best, but why the interest in recouping his WBC belt but not his WBO? LOL
Sergio Martinez fights Darren ****ing Barker and then says Pirog needs to make a name for himself, LMAO at teh hipocresy
They all fought on HBO, many times. Pirog fought on HBO once against Jacobs...who else has he fought? A bunch of scrubs in Russia, that's who. Martinez has only been fighting guys with near perfect records and winning against these guys on national television. Pirog beat one singular overhyped prospect and then HBO hasn't invited him back.
Martinez is ranked as the #3 P4P guy in the entire sport, where is Pirog ranked at? You should look at more of the entire picture when making your point besides one fight. Pirog brings nothing more to the table than a belt that he had to do little to nothing to earn and an undefeated record. Martinez will get his belt back from Chavez once the coward vacates and he is trying to be recognized as the P4P best...to do that he needs to fight either Pac or Mayweather...that is his goal (thought that would be apparent at this point).
Pirog's team wants Martinez to come over to Russia to fight him, you think he'd stand any chance in heck of getting a fair turn over there? Obviously not.

Blown up doesn't mean you can or can't make weight still. You can be a blown up or a natural at a weight-class and still not be able to make the weight. Not everyone is the same.
And, yes JMM is a blown up FW.

He's fighting Macklin on St. Patty's day in MSG most likely.

Dropping to 150 lbs for either Pac or Floyd is a compromise on the part of both parties.....going up in weight only means that Martinez puts every single advantage in favor of any opponent he would fight there. They would be at optimal speed, power, height, reach, and health, while Martinez would be like Arthur Abraham fighting those dudes.....hasn't worked out too well for him there either.Last edited by mathed; 11-05-2011, 11:30 AM.

He'd have a 2" height advantage over Floyd but he would be leveling the playing field by having to lose almost 10 pounds of pure muscle to get back to 150 lbs. Dude stated that he was already at around 4-5% body fat at most......in order to make 168, he would have to add another 8 pounds of muscle to his small frame in order to reach smw on top of having all the other things going against him.
