his respect won't come until he is DONE AS A FIGHTER!
right now a lot of the hate is FRUSTRATION FROM SOME who want to see him lose so bad...nobody likes a guy who is great at what he does and he also tells you that he is great, we are trained to like the guy who is great but very quiet and humble
what Mayweather is dealing with is nothing close to what Ali had to deal with

Only ignorant people hate boxers on a personal level and only ******s would find Floyd boring. Most fans aren't boxing fans they're mindless drones looking for awfull sloppy fights as long as they end with a KO. Makes me sick.

I respect mayweather big time as a fighter! He's awesome!
However a lot of what comes out of his mouth is complete BS and I don't like it when people buy into his lies. Whenever I see interviews with him and people call him on certain things he just gets mad and starts throwing insults around without adressing what is actually being said. The way he "postpones" (doesn't show up) his cases and is in trouble with taxes all the time makes him appear like he thinks he's above the law. The whole thing with Ortiz was within the rules but was it really neccessary? He says a lot of extremely disrespectful (and often racist) things. I could go on but I won't.
It's just lots of little things like this that make him appear to be a real scum bag of a person. All of that being said however, he IS the most technically sound boxer in the world today. Not saying he is or isn't the best fighter but he is for sure the most technical and you have to respect his skills.

He doesn't know how to show respect to himself
If you want to be respected, show respect to yourself. Why would other respect floyd if each time he talks, he shows how un-educated he's been, no finese at all. another thing, he doesn't know to show respect to others. He always brag about himself and thikns he is the best. He doesn't know how to shoe humility at all....how could your respect that kind of person? Bill Gates is a billionare but never bring up his money and brag about it nor showing it to the media. He is so down to earth person and never heard to be arogant about anything. Floyd's talent is too minute to act that way!

Floyd is a sucessful pro boxer who purposely play the bad guy role to get a wider audience to showcase his skills to. His impressive undfeated record that continues to grow, adds fuel to the fire. People see this guy who talks a lot of crap and has never lost a fight. The extreme haters go as far as to say Floyd is afraid of just about any one who Bob Arum says Floyd is afraid of. It doesn't help that the media also runs along with what Arum says.
In the end, Floyd is supposed to have a lot of haters. But you can be a knowledgeble hater, not a blind dumb hater who only says things like "well Floyd wants to be hated, so I'm gonna hate him" so you go ahead and blindly hate him while saying false things about him, and saying your opinions like they're fact.
